I am watching this video because I'm building one. Trying to get the best design I can. I just bought a 420 cc engine with 19 ft pounds of torque......I hope that is enough. What is the advantage to two tracks instead of one? Is there an advantage? Mainly I want to use this in the snow.

Will be easier to build with one track, all depends how deep snow you want to tackle, I bought 10hp snowdog and ride mostly 1 foot snow and love it. Was the same way thinking of building one, but decided to go with manufacturer build , they sell them in USA from Baltmotors.

I think they're overplaying the sport-riding/racing aspect, but these snow dogs are a lot more practical than a traditional American snowmobile. If anything, these machines are more tool than toy, compared to traditional snowmobiles. There are a couple outdoor/bushcraft channels on KZbin, where the guy uses one of these to cart his gear to his winter camp. They can also be used in summer to drag a wagon/utility trailer around, although I haven't seen a whole lot of that. I know a number of great camp sites that you have to park some distance away, and I like to set up a semi-permanent base camp, with a few luxuries. An American might think you looked foolish dragging your gear around behind a tracked vehicle powered by a lawnmower engine, as they race by in their $20,000 Polaris RZR, but you can - and there're KZbinrs who HAVE - build your own Snow Dog for $1000 and another 'challenge' I saw was for $1500. It's a true 4-season ATV.
