This song is featured on my CD, "Maid on the Shore". The CD is available at CD Baby:

When a dreary Seattle day suddenly began to snow like crazy, I just couldn't help myself...I had to grab the harp and play this amazing song! Unfortunately, the video quality isn't great, but if you keep your eyes on the window you can see flurries every so often.
To fully credit the song, it's a poem by Archibald Lampman set to music by the incomparable Loreena McKennitt. I can only hope I do it justice. For those who have asked me for sheet music, I haven't published my own arrangement, but you can buy Loreena's at www.loreenamckennitt.com.
And I STRONGLY encourage you to buy the original song, either on CD or mp3, as well. Loreena is a genius, and I owe her a debt of gratitude for her inspiration.
Gotta go...hot cocoa is waiting!

I dream, I will dream!!! With that holy music... You took tears from my face Molly, your voice is angelical and your soul as white as the snow. Thanks for giving this to a person who almost doesn't even know the snow. That's why this is one of my favourites songs... Thanks again...

These are the first cold days of the year by this southern part of the world... and it's so lovely to come to this video wishing that the following days can be cold enough so it snows... Here it snows only once a year and I'll wait it with all my soul and hope. I adore this video, thank you very much Molli...

One of the nice things about fall is looking forward to more days curled up on the couch with hot cocoa. I'm not living in that house anymore, and even though I love my new apartment (it has gas heat! hallelujah!) I know I'll really miss the fireplace on those frigid evenings. Watching this video will remind me of that. :)

Hi Molly! Bailey (your most loyal fan) turned 16 on Feb. 25th. I still play your CD for her every day and she still sits absolutely still except for her wagging tail and listens to your voice. This is both of our favourite song.

You are all so kind! I love to hear that anything I've done has touched someone's heart. I think Loreena McKennitt must also take some credit for writing such an amazing melody (and Arthur Lampman for such a beautiful poem!) Really, thank you all from the bottom of my heart. :)

Thank you so much! I've been very fortunate to have a lot of wonderful harp resources at my disposal, which helped me develop my playing. I'm mostly self-taught, though I've used some books and an occasional lesson or two just to keep me honest. (And yes, the Dusty harp is a great part of my success...my playing got better a lot faster with such a gorgeous instrument to play! Then again, I freely admit I'm biased...;))

Sorry for the late reply! This is a lever harp (or folk harp, if you prefer) smaller and simpler than the kind you see in the orchestra, yet very satisfying to play. This one happens to be made by Dusty Strings in Seattle, WA.

Thank you! :) Yeah, this was one of my early videos, and I was just using my laptop's built-in microphone, in a very echoey wood-paneled room! My later videos (the ones in front of the unicorn tapestry) should have slightly better sound, as I have a pickup in my harp and a decent microphone now. Still don't have great acoustics to work with, but I'm improving little by little! *grin*

We can see the snow prefectly well, and you're correct, it adds to the atmosphere. Excellent white balance on the camera, most would have underexposed you! And the light echo does wonders for the voice (a little less for the harp). Certainly McKennitt's version is more professional, but yours is more immediate and makes me think of listening in a drafty cold castle hall... and warmed by the voice and sounds.
