I love how it ends with the little one’s voice , “come play with..”. So sweet...conveys simplicity and love. “Life shouldn’t be so f***kin hard” (but it is), yet at the same time, it could be quite simple...if we allow it. I cannot listen to this song without crying. In a good way. I had consciously shut my feelings off during the lockdowns, and I didn’t know how to set them free again after. Numb had become a habit I couldn’t shake. I heard this song somewhere daft - it might have been Grey’s Anatomy (very late to the game on that too!) and I tracked down the song through snippets of remembered lyrics. And here I am, loving that I can cry again at something so moving and beautiful. Snow Patrol, I probably turned my nose up at you, back in the day (I was a metal loving Goth!) but there isn’t enough gratitude in the world to say thank you for this song. And now I’m away to blow my nose ‘cos I’m greetin’ like a big, saft eejit again!
