In this video I head out on the road with Sonny's Service Of Avoca LLC and watch as they up right a tipped over plow truck. In the past 24hrs upstate NY got blasted with some heavy wet snow and unfortunately none of the back roads were frozen making it very difficult for the town ships to plow. Soft shoulders and deep ditches are the worst nightmare when trying to wing back the banks for these guys. -Enjoy!

I drove over the road for a year. From Houston, never driven in blizard conditions. Followed a plow truck south on US 77 across Nebraska Kansas. Sheriff stopped at a small store with truck parking. After parking, asked Sheriff why he had us stop, there were 4 other trucks behind me, he said that was the county line and plow truck wasn't going any farther. Thanks Eric!

Years ago the same thing happened to my wife's van. She was fighting with me about what I wanted to do and she got out of the van. I turned traction control off and petal to the floor. Wham bam thank-you-ma'am the van was not stuck and we were on our way.

30 years in the snow and ice business I quickly learned that picking up plow trucks is a part of it. They were lucky it had dirt in the box. If it had been salt the EPA makes you clean it and fine you.

It was a nice treat to see some footage outside of the shop for this Sunday. We all can learn a great lesson from this as most people don't realize how many hours these men and women endure to make sure our roads are clear. As stated in the video, some are working with a few hours sleep in a 24 hour period so it's best to give them plenty of room when you see them driving down the road. I can remember when I lived up north, it was a staple to see the town plows out plowing and salting. I preferred when they used sand since it did less damage to my car. Informative video. Lol
