Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. kzbin.infoUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

Speaking about the 1st gear thing. Doing heavy snow and a lot of passes in one place, I'd throw it in low range. If it wants to shift, let it, or you can still peg it in 1st manually. It keeps tranny temps down, and heat will kill a trans faster than anything. Hey, it's your truck, do what makes you happy but just a suggestion. I know you can plow everything in high range, but low puts the strain on the gear reduction, not the trans. Big dually truck, big plow, deep heavy snow, mighty cummins low end torque= world of pain for torque converter/trans. Does it have the aisin?

Ever plow driveways with hills? I’m wondering if pulling 1 wheel off each side of rear would give better traction being more weight on the 2 wheels vs 4 wheels? Plus adding ballast and traction weight to the rear.

There's places around here that believe snow removal is just waiting for sunshine to take care of it. Or are too scared they'll scrape a few kernels of gravel in the ditch they leave the blade a foot off the ground. You definitely got dumped on. Truck really pushes well

DeHaven Family Farm so what you are telling me is the county plow had left you a snow bank you had to bust through, before you could actually get to plow the road , where you said there was places that were 8” , which is really good but what about in-between those drifts ? I plowed snow with a 5 ton single axle possitrack , 478cu” Ford (gas) ,12 ft slusher & 8’ wing ,, & if we had 2” of wet snow even just using the slusher , & even sanding ,we needed to take several runs to get up some hills

@@antoniobaldiviezo8140 the trip edge is why I only have owned Fisher plows. The V plow is most useful if you have larger areas to plow, like parking lots. It will clean up a lot about 2x as fast as a straight blade.
