Those Honda's are probably the best for snowplowing, you don't have to worry much about breaking belts.

That thing is a freaking tank.....holy cow. You're pushing 2 feet of snow easy...

nice plow. I wish I had that model.

no, I only plow in 4wd, however - when I start to make quick turns on the pavement that has little to no snow because I just plowed it I will switch to 2wd on the fly. it's almost like a zero-turn mower because the back side comes spinning all the way around thus your turning radius is quick. Then it's back to 4wd.

@TheBowlingboy300 I'm trying to remember. I think the plow was $700 and they put the hardware on at the dealership. It's so simple to pop on and off that I can do it (and I'm a 5'2" 125lb chick). It also has these discs on the bottom that make it easy to drag, cuz it's heavy.

I love plowing snow on my Arctic Cat Thundercat 1000 Put'er in low and lock up the front end and it will go through ANYTHING!

yeah a cvt automatic. 2-wheel will not do the job pushing snow imho. whenever i leave mine in 2, i couldn't push deeper than an inch. however it is great to switch to 2 on the fly when turning.

I wouldn't know. I originally bought the plow to take care of our parking lot and thought maybe I would pick up some more drives to get a little bit of extra money. But I never had time to solicit business and we lived in an area where people were pretty tight. We just moved to an area where once again I have a big parking lot (I also run a business where I see clients at my home) so I'll need to plow. Not sure I'll have time pick up drives here either.

Andover, Ohio. We get a lot of lake effect snow. Six months ago we moved to Cortland and we don't get quite as dumped on.

I've used my 04 Yamaha bear tracker 250 2wd plowing a foot of snow on the ground and of course it's more when pushing it and it's done a great job. I haven't used chains or extra weight at all. 10 yrs of hard snow plowing and still runs great. So yes you can in fact use 2wd. The plow pushes u a path so your actually not going through the foot of snow. I also have my blade right on the ground, don't have those circles on each side of plow raising the blade. This should help answer questions. I live in MI and were surrounded by 5 Great Lakes so yes we get a lot of lake effect.

@121baway Yeah it's great. Like I mentioned, it's so simple I can use it. On rare occasions I'll plow if the hubs is busy and it's easy and fun.

bought it July of '08. Everything including winch and plow and 'back seat' was about $8,100 (it was brand new).

I love the front mount. I push snow hills up to 5 to 6 feet.

@Scavezzacapi I really should look at these comments more often. Hazarding a guess (at 4am cuz I can't sleep cuz of the heat wave we're in) 6-7 feet long with the plow attached. We built the shed in the video specifically for the atv/plow but made it deeper for other stuff like shovels, fuel/oil, locks, salt etc.

I got the rapid mount with the 60" moose county plow also now and wow how easy to mount and dismount it. Pretty strong. I have the sportsman 800 efi with tatuo 4s tracks and People cant belive it when they see me plowin

@rosscopeeko1 Yes I seem to remember we did have probs with the first few feet of the winch cable. There's some strong rope the hubs bought to take care of it. I'll ask him and reply to you again.
@empresslori15 жыл бұрын
Very happy with my 60" plow. I would just make sure that you beef up the pivot joint.

I am using Amsteel blue rope for winch in the video. The factory cable will break within a day or two. This is my third year with the new rope and no problems yet. I got the 8,000 lbs strength. Hope this helps. And no I cannot plow 2 feet at one time unless you peal the corners like an union.

4 wheel Drive???? Do you necessarily need a four wheel drive for plowing snow with an ATV or can a two wheel drive handle the job? thanks

@empresslori Good! We hope to use ours this winter to plow with as well.

Thinking of getting one of these for the end of my driveway when the big guys leave a three foot pile of wet shit there after going by. How good is yours for the heavy stuff? Thanks.
@rosscopeeko113 жыл бұрын
Nice set up. I have a Rubicon as well and want to outfit it with a plow. I will probably go with the same as you. Do you have a problem wearing out the first few feet of your winch cable? Is your engine and trans holding up well? Thanks for posting the vid. Take care
@ryanmorris45413 жыл бұрын
@patrick4mv its just a backrest and he might have some weights in there to give better traction

@miikeyy4598 sorry I took so long to reply. We purchased the atv/winch/plow from a Honda dealership that specializes in motorcycles, scooters, waverunners, dirtbikes and atvs. Just For Fun Honda in Middlefield, Ohio.

@cole300 you mean the whole winch set-up? I'll have to ask Doug (we use each other's accounts interchangeably). He uses Amsteel blue rope (8,000 lb strength) for the winch.
