Another epic ko-duction. I ran in my Altra Vanish XC during the tail end of the storm Sunday (in the B8LS Monday). The Altras were better than I thought given the upper. The “foot shaped” toebox seemed to push snow away from my feet. I just needed the lugs. I dig the footfall toward the end of the clip... and the B-roll. Thanks for the inspiration as always, solebrother. ✌🏽🖤🏃🏽‍♂️

It’s always rather discouraging when I see birds flapping like crazy only to just barely keep up with the headwind. It’s even more discouraging when they give up and then get whisked away by the wind.

So nice to run on the snow, i always have that feeling of peace, because usually no one is outdoor and the city is empty. But on the other hand it is freezing and I cannot stay too long without running and enjoining the scenario. Nice video as usual! Thanks

they've been doing a very good job keeping the trail plowed and salted. but the snowiest parts from this video are parts that they don't seem to be plowing at all. so it's all or nothing, it seems

@@kofuzi yeah from Fullerton north to the beach was awful yesterday. Today i was running along with some Asian guy with a orange/brownish beanie on. He didn't drop me after he came around from letting me block the wind, I was like hey that's super nice! I didn't realize it was you until we came around Hollywood beach circle and i was like... oh shit that dude is one of the reasons im out here and i didnt even recognize him until the selfie stick came out. what a dorkus. Still not sure what id have said if i did. keep on rocking sir!- the lady with the pink gloves

Italian living in Tallinn, Estonia....been running on those snowy/icing/slush conditions for weeks now, last saturday i ran 50Km, killed my legs, but so happy ;)

Last week I got caught in pouring rain, mid-run. It rained so hard I thought I was swimming, hahaha. So I said to myself, if Kofuzi could handle snowy days, a little bit of rain won't hurt me.

Lake front path was perfect until north ave that day, then the real "running" began. I gave up at the oak street curve and retreated back.

Same. And then I went back and kept going around the curve the next day. It was a gauntlet.

Back in 2019, a few days before the polar vortex, I had the chance to run like 8 km in snow for the first time, from the loop area up to Chicago Pier and some other places around, finishing on East Illinois st. It was around minus 10 Celsius (14 F). Two days before I had run under 38 Celsius (100 F)

It’s freshwater from Lake Michigan. Parts of it are frozen into a bit of a shelf. Other parts of it are slushy with ice chunks.

Dude, this video, even with the fine production quality, just reinforces why I no longer live in Chicagoland. Oh my gosh, winter is romanticized and over rated. On the upside... thanks for the very clear reminder that winter in Chicago is ‘less than ideal.’ (Edited for family friendly audience. A string of expletives would be more accurate.)
