Put rubber extenders on impeller which will help throw farther and especially will keep chute from clogging. I cut my rubber pieces out of an old mudflap, drilled holes in the impeller and rubber then bolt together. I did the same thing to my little self propelled and it works awesome on it as well 😊

I am a long time snowblower…40+ years. My current unit is 72” wide and 24” high. I’ve read many of the other comments and much of what they say is good info. I would emphasize; keep your rpm’s high ( I presume 540 rpm) and your ground speed low enough that your tractor doesn’t bog down. My snowblower’s discharge chute has polypropylene sheets lining it so snow will not build up in it. Polypropylene is very slippery. I have also heard of some folks painting the impeller area with nonstick paint. Don’t know how well it works but seems like it might be a workable idea. Keep a set of tools with you along with shear bolts. Regular preventive maintenance real important. Keep everything well lubed. Best luck to you!

For me the little voice told me to get a generator (back in 2003). 2 weeks before the entire east coast of north america had a big power failure.. Hey on those couplings just find the coupling that fits the snow blower and put it on one end of a piece of hose and then on the other end that features on your tractor then what you can do is have that short hose that you can just put in between the 2 and you won't have to buy a long long hose

Seems the Snow Blower needs more Power and Speed to the Snow Blower itself. Is there a way to up the speed on the Blower without increasing speed on the Tractor ? When running snow Blowers here we always make sure the Blowers are throwing the snow 25 to 40 Feet to get the snow of and away from the road. Of course you know all this. Maybe away to Hear proper speed to Blower. Great Show I'll watch some more. Place seems really nice. You can make a cab. On the tractor. Run a 12 volt Heater they work better then you might think. Happy Travels stay safe.

Just a suggestion. I know I'm late to the party but if you put an impeller kit on there it will go a long ways towards keeping your snowblower from slugging up with that wet stuff. Also you should do yourself a huge favor and look up a soft tractor cab for that thing that you can take off in the summer. I know they seem like a little bit of money but dang it they are so worth it mine's original tractor cab ,but there's another company called cover my tractor that also makes them. They look like pretty solid units too. As an added bonus in the summertime you have a sunshade is something to keep the rain off of you when you take the skin off. Anyway no criticism just a suggestion thanks for taking us along on the ride

That's great! My sister lived just outside (south) of there for several years before moving to Thayne and then Jackson. I spent many days visiting here and getting breakfast at the old lodge diner. It's surprising how much it's grown over the past 10 years.
@nieldcreek20982 жыл бұрын
@@MountainMapleRanch left there about 38 years ago. Was back a few years ago to bury my uncle. still love that small town. -but it just kills me what Jackson has become… sad to me. Star valley winter’s sure last a long time there, but I’m told they aren’t as severe as they used to be. Lived on a sheep ranch there and boy did we have snow. I remember my siblings and I going trick-or - treating and there was already almost 2 feet of snow on the ground. -The wife and I are actually thinking of moving back to cold country. Everyone says we’re crazy cause we’re not supposed to move to the snow as we age, but I got one more “call of the wild” in me that I got to appease before I’m really old, so if we can get our house sold we will actually be fellow Idahoans. We considered Star Valley but the only real jobs are in Jackson. And we don’t want (nor can we afford) to live there, but Idaho is a pretty nice place so that’s the plan. We will be west of you though (closer to the capital unfortunately) but got bought a little piece of raw land up in the mountains, so we will be starting over from scratch as well. It will be about 50+ min drive to work for the wife, as she is also a nurse. She drives 30 minutes now so she feels like she can adapt. it’s just the adapting to driving in the snow that’s got us a little concerned cause down here in southern Utah we don’t have to deal with it. We may learn that we are going to need a snow blower and something to attach it to as well. -That attachment to your tractor was a great find, and I hope it serves you well for many years! …Ah, my apologies, that was very long winded…

That's good you found one I would not have a snowblower that mount on the back of my tractor nether that be a pain in the nick lol if i cud not fine one I would have look for a brush hog or find a trans and a snowblower that mount on the back and some steel and made it into a front snowblower. Maybe later on you can fine a older 4x4 tractor that you can put the snowblower on and your newer tractor you can put the back blade and the front lift. If you get some block of wax melt it an brush it on the snowblower it will help a lot from the snow a slush sticking. Wow you do have a lot to snow remove

I just watched this vlog,and am now a subscriber, the voiceover narration explaining what you were doing is excellent, well done!! As a retired truck driver, I have the luxury of sitting in my warm house,in my chair,and enjoy the adventures of other people's postings here on KZbin. Many moons ago while helping on my grandfather's farm here in the north central part of Pennsylvania, during the winter months, he would hang heavier pieces of canvas on the sides of the tractor,from the hood down to the oil pan,from radiator back to the steering wheel support, and leave it loose by your feet and knees,kind of a makeshift heater,as the fan pulling air through the radiator, would blow back to where you were sitting. Mind you not a lot of air flow,but when it's cold and snowy, any warm air was a blessing!! As others have pointed out, a homemade cab made with plexiglass and side curtains would greatly improve your comfort levels also. That's nice country where you live in,Eastern Idaho,I spent a few years in the military by Umatilla,Oregon, a drier environment than where your at,and a couple of sisters live in Montana. Looking forward to more of your adventures!!😎😎😎

21:00 a real man.. just getting it done. Grew up on a farm in Iowa (always windy and extreme wind chill) when no one had cabs on their tractors. We used what we called a heat houser. It had a windshield (which would always fog up) front and sides and panels on the sides of the engine that would direct heat back toward your body. It did really well on the windy days to help block the wind and gave you a little heat.

Maybe look into attaching strips of heavy rubber to the ends of the impeller blades. With heavy wet snow, it has a habit of sticking to the sides of the tunnel and plugging it up. With the rubber strips being closer to the tunnel walls, the snow gets scraped off and gets throw further. Just a thought. If you try it, screw or bolt the strips so they are just before touching the walls. Don't want to wear them out.
