Not a Christmas book per se, but Little Women is my go to book for the holiday season. Some parts happen during Christmas and it is just the cosiest, most heart warming book ever. I always try to read it during the month of December, and every year it seams to bring me more and more joy!

Here for all the Christmas vibes. Your tree looks great. I really liked the English Tea Shop advent calendar, I had it a few year ago. This year I have one by Sonnentor, a very good German tea brand, and a self-made tea advent calendar from my partner that also comes with things like honey, you can use with the tea. :D Love how British tea says "enjoy without milk". xD

My flat is fully decorated now, the only thing missing is a Christmas tree, which we going to pick up this weekend and I'm so excited about it :D Also, my favourite Christmassy movies are: 1. Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel (I'm so sorry, but i don't know the English title. it is a really old adaptation of cinderella, or rather cinderella is an adaptation of this movie :D) 2. A royal winter (a wonderful hallmark movie! Just good vibes all around) 3. A Christmas prince So basically I love all hallmark Christmas movies, especially those in little towns or kingdoms

Oooh exciting - enjoy decorating your tree! My German isn’t as good as I’d like it to be so I can can “3 hazelnuts for” but I don’t know the last word… I also LOVE cosy hallmark movies Ahha!
@princessissii3 жыл бұрын
@@ciarascorner that’s totally fine. Aschenbrödel is a old German word for Aschenputtel, which basically is the origin story of Cinderella, just without the pumpkin and fairy 😅 I believe this movie was filmed in Russia so it isn’t even German. Maybe there is a English version of it, if so you have to give it a try. It is so magical.

It's the Lipton tea calendar and it has two tea pags in each hatch so it's 48 tea pags in total. I read Jenny Colgan's "Bookshop on the Corner" and it was the only book I've ever DNF'd. The writing was too childish for me to continue. The characters were paper thin, and overall it just felt dumb. Like below the level I would expect for YA, let alone a book for an adult. Are her other books better or is all her writing like that?
@ciarascorner3 жыл бұрын
Hmm, well as I’ve not read the bookshop on the corner, I can’t say for sure how similar it is to the island series that I’ve read - however, I will say that when it comes to Jenny Colgan and other authors like her, I read the books as if they’re like a written down hallmark movie, so with the expectation that they’re quite predictable, simple and just feel good fluff! Then when I want more depth, I’d go for a different style of book - hope that makes sense!

My favorite Christmas things to watch are definitely Home Alone, and then Christmas episodes of shows I like. I actually have a funny story to share with you about the movie It's A Wonderful Life. Where I live, lots of movies and T.V. shows are filmed. I used to work in a coffee shop and people from all over town would come in to buy a coffee. There was one day where a girl came in, around Christmastime and somehow the topic of the movie "It's A Wonderful Life" came up. I then proceeded to tell her that that movie was so annoying and overrated to me by this point, because I have literally seen it every single Christmas since I was a child, and that is a couple times too many. She then proceeds to become extremely offended and tell me that her grandfather was the DIRECTOR for the movie. I had no idea what to say and I felt so bad hahahaa!!! How was I supposed to know this random girl's grandfather directed the movie I was hating on?? Ahhhh hahaha. It's a crazy story, I just wanted to share!!
