Excellent job Dave getting that carburetor cleaned up. Sure makes a difference when your snow blower can actually blow snow, and not bog down like your constipated and can't pass a stool on the toilet.

I enjoy your videos. These Toro 2 cycle machines are great. They sound like a very large chainsaw, which makes it even better. Lol.

Thanks very much! I love the 2 stroke blowers. Lots of power and light weight!

Dave the Toro snow commander was a great and powerful machine in my opinion. Not sure why they quit making them. Wished i could find a used one. Nice video Dave, and you really showed how easy they are to work on. 🇨🇦🇺🇸❄🌨👍

Dave, Nice simple cleaning. One trick I always perform is after assembling the float/bowl, I turn the carb upside down, and blow air (might want to use a clean hose) into the fuel intake. As I slowly turn the bowl right side up, you can tell if the air stops from the needle seating. I can't tell you how many times this has saved me time. The air replicates the fuel movement. Nice work.

That’s a great tip Super! I will give that a try on my next carb. Cheers!

When I got an old ccr3650 I also cleaned the exhaust port out. That might free up some more power too.

My initial carb problem was a floater that was stuck. Now every once in awhile it'll quit, so I'm going to try this. Also mine is the kind with the adjustment screw at the bottom of the Bowl
@DavesSmallEngines2 жыл бұрын
Hey Bucky! Totally worth a try. All of that junk in the foot bowl was likely clogging up the jet or the needle seat. Let me know how it goes!

Hey Dave Great tips Bud. I like the idea of using one of those nut driver bits to access the emulsion tube. How do those Toro machines handle the deep stuff? We’ve been hit pretty hard lately here in Niagara and my 30” MTD sometimes struggles to get through. I’m seeing a lot more of those 2 strokes out there. Cheers Dave
@DavesSmallEngines2 жыл бұрын
Hey Ray! Yes that bit really did work out great. I’m not surprised the 30” MTD struggled - every blower I’ve seen has been struggling. I used a bigger 2 stage toro this season and it really throws the snow. I think any snowblower sub 10hp would struggle with the amount of snow we have had in southwestern Ontario… my 7hp does well with the powdery stuff however a dual stage is really best when things get a bit warmer and sloppy out. I used to think that for most people, a 5-7hp single stage is all you need, but after this year, I’m not sure.

Hey Dave, what type of 2 stroke oil do you use in this? The service manual specs a TCW certified type, which I don't think is super common? Would Stihl 2-cycle oil (or similar) be ok? Just curious. Thanks!
@DavesSmallEngines2 жыл бұрын
Hey Dave - I have used Stihl 2 stroke oil for the last two winters without any issues.
