The old white building at the start of the video just brought childhood flash backs to what got me into snowboarding. A friend and I were ar Squaw in like 1984 or 1986 in the summer because his mom got a free stay at the Red Dog Inn... Back way before Squaw had a village. It used to be a massive parking lot and that building only. We were board in the evening walking around that building trying to open doors and get in because we were stupid punk as skater kids always doing stupid shit. We opened one door started to walk up these stairs and hear some guys yell out, "Hey! Who is that!" We bolt, they catch us quick and ask us what we're doing? We say, "looking for the movie theater." They say, "no theater but we're making a movie, wanna see it?" We say, "Sure!" They take us up stairs and show us this video on this classic 80's movie production editing machine inside that building. I'm blown away and skating on snow with the board strapped to your feet made the whole world make sense to me at that point forward. Guy asks, "Wanna copy of the video?" I say "YUP!" He hands me a copy of aVHS tape of this snowboarding movie before it has even been released to the public. I'm a 6th grade kid with no idea who I just meet irl. LOVED SNOWBOARDING EVER SINCE. THIS IS THE VIDEO SHOT AT SQUAW AND A DONNER SKI RANCH 80'S HALFPIPE CONTEST. The guys in this video are the legends that made this sport MASSIVE in the late 80's early 90's. Read the riders names in the credits. Noah Shalaznick was the pro skater that brought snowboarding from hard boots and neon to soft boots, skate style clothes, and skate style moves on the snowboard. He just passed away few years ago living in Grass Valley/Nevada City CA. NO JOKE! He is 100% the guy that made the flat bill trucker hat cool. Everyone copied his style.
