25 years living at the base of Thompson Pass in AK. We used to be able to name the person who set a skin track in, based on where it was, how many dogs tracks, and if they made too many switch backs!! Now, impossible. At first I was bummed, but now happy people are getting the goods too, plus I'm older and just want to ski pow....all my favorite ski channels are Norwegian, keep killing it 🤙

@@AnttiAuttiChannelmega cool, nowadays I feel watching independent media on YT is like 10x better quality and more educational then Netflix crap. I think you are one of the best snowboarders out there on YT! Amazing job, very motivational. Make me really want to do more freeriding ❤❤❤❤

Amazing quality! Stay safe guys! What do you do when an avalance happens? How do you know where to go and where not? Insane stuff! One last question, what happens if you go in 1 straight line on a snowboard?

Great episode! Always great to see stylemaster Ile Eronen riding a snowboard, he was a mystic character to our crew back in the day. A few years ago you mentioned in a comment section that you might talk about avalance airbags some day. I’d be curious to hear your views on them.
@AnttiAuttiChannel11 ай бұрын
Cheers! That’s still on the list of things I’m planning to talk. In general. I’d say avalanche bags are the very last resort to try to safe yourself in an avalanche situation and it really comes down to desicion process prior that helps us to avoid these situations. I have a first hand experience on this and think that playing in avalanche terrain when snowpack is touchy is always somewhat uncontrollable even if sizes of the avys would be minor. When danger is higher then terrain choice matters critically.

Time to get the guidebook and search the map for Sunny Car Center. Even though the snow pack probably won't be as stable this season 🤙

I rode a crater sized bowl in Bachelor Bend after a HUGE storm and it was like riding a cloud. You have to be careful, the middle can get deep and if you fall head 1st, which is very possible riding that much powder, you can suffocate.

For a long time now in your videos I've always seen you ride the Deeluxe Spark XV, so I was wondering, did you have a chance to try out the (non-Spark) XV? None of the shops here have it so I couldn't test it yet. It seems to me that the membrane would be pretty nice, but overall I don't really love Boa, much prefer the Speed Lacing System, and not having a crampon welt makes it seem to me like more of a boot for intermediate tours, without having to rely too much onto crampons, icy climbing passages, etc. ...
@AnttiAuttiChannel11 ай бұрын
Hi. You are quite correct on this. I have ridden both boots and the new XV is really good. I like the feeling of it more than the Spark XV when riding but it is tough boot to use with crampons and alpine style moving. For powder etc where snow is soft this boot works very well for sure.
@Ruvonn11 ай бұрын
@@AnttiAuttiChannel Thanks for your reply! (: So from what you are saying I think I don't need to try out the new XV. Most of the tours I'm doing here in the Alps require crampons and ice axes, with the occasional rappel. A backcountry boot that doesn't work well with crampons isn't gonna be of much use to me. Probably better to stick with the Spark XV which whorks fine with semi-automatic crampons. It's a pity, because from the description the extra small footprint and the membrane sounded really nice. Wish you a great winter and all the best from the Alps! (:
