In this video I'm testing out the Jones Storm Wolf snowboard. I'm heading up Blackcomb Mountain with Andreas in search of deep powder to do a proper powder snowboard test. The Jones Storm Wolf is one of the newest snowboards by Jones and I'm stoked to take it into some alpine areas as well as some tight trees. Andreas and I have a few powder zones in mind, but will have to some hiking to find the goods. Just rode my storm wolf 4 days at mount bachelor. I agree Kevin, I ride a ultracraft most days and I love the stability but in tight trees it’s a lot of work. The storm wolf has that same stable feel but can turn through tight trees w ease and has a surfy feel to it while still being aggressive when needed.

Absolutely! When I got a handle on this board and had my bindings dialed in just right, man oh man. 3,2,1.....BLAST OFF! Fun, super fast, super stable and I haven't even rode any real powder yet. This thing just slays on groomers and on piste.

Got a new board......Capita Super DOA 158W. Incredible deck. Hopefully some day I will be as good as the Super DOA. I am super stocked. My combo now is Yes Optimistic 157 and the Capita. Aside there is a Jones Flagship 162W which no ones wants to buy. it does not matter, maybe I will keep it because it a real rocket if some day i want to bomb down the slope. In 5 years period i understood that if you want to progress you have ride different boards, twins give you most if you want to learn some flat freestyle and expensive board give you super glide because of the best bases.

Great content ! I have a question, how does this board hold up to on the groomers ? I like to carve hard and do quick turns, from time to time i love going in te pow between the trees. I'm an intermediate kinde off rider. Would this board fit my needs ? I have now a Lib tech skate bannana from 2014 and i don't like the twin shape, i never ride switch so i'm going for a directional board, but i was thinking the Jones Stratos or the Korua Pensil/Dart would be more my kind off board until i saw your review here. Jones are very, very good boards I think. Bases are very fast.

There's actually only two snowboard base suppliers for the big ski/snowboard makers, Crown Plastics (Durasurf) and Isosport, and it's debatable which one is better depending on the exact base as colour and batch create slight variations (obviously there's also a difference between extruded and sintered). The only major difference between brands other than supplier is finishing (base crosshatching and waxing). Jones uses Durasurf as a fyi

Unfortunately, I haven't had any real powder days this season, but plain and simple, the StormWolf is a Bad@ss board! By far, the best board I've ever ridden. Super stable, super fast and gives me crazy confidence. Every time I go up, I am asking myself if my riding is that strong or is it the board that's making me the better rider?
