Hi bro! I follow u on yt. Bro I have a 2012 flat top board. Iam an intermediate rider, Iam thinking to buy a new board the burton custom 2024 Flying V. Flying V is a good option for butter tricks? Or its difficult one? (I like how colorful the board is) please

@hendrik94317

I really want to learn to ride switch better. Would it make sense to set up the board goofy and ride it like intended for a whole day, so it comes more natural or just do it with the setting I'm used to ride? I'm normally riding regular and switch back to normal, since it feels just so much beeing able to ride faster and safer.
@Shane.C
@Shane.C Жыл бұрын
I personally would put some angle in the rear binding like +15 front or whatever you like and mirror it in the rear -15 -10 keeping your feet at the same angle will help you focus on the leg work and take at least one run every day you ride and ride it switch just get the traversing down so you feel confident on edge and putting your weight on your down hill foot riding you’ll get to a point where you realize the muscle memory best of luck my friend
@wontonii232
@wontonii232 Жыл бұрын
For me what worked was just keep the standard +15 deg mirrored stance for both legs that way you don't need to adjust the setup when you wanna switch between regular and switch. And yes learning to ride switch absolutely sucks cuz it feels like you're learning from scratch again. But you just need to resist the temptation to go back to riding regular cuz it feels more comfortable. Just commit to riding switch every other run and you'll get better in no time. Just keep in mind that you're essentially relearning how to snowboard from scratch so it's gonna be very painful and awkward for the first several runs.

Anyone ever ride the Burton Process? I also have a hometown hero but I wanted something a little more playful but I still like to rip fast and lay into carves and venture off into trees. I’m worried the process won’t be able to handle that. Thoughts? I’m asking cause I have the process but have yet to ride it!
@Siikvision
@Siikvision Жыл бұрын
been riding the process for a couple of years now and i think its safe to youll be happy with your purchase. a nice true twin board thats still got enough backbone for ripping but soft enough to get out some decent presses. im sure youll love it! a Burton classic :)

everyone is talking about starting with tail press but no one explains how to control the board while doing it so it doesn't start to turn..
@Siikvision
@Siikvision Жыл бұрын
keeping your weight centered over the tail will help. if you start drifting, slowly shift your weight to the opposite edge until you straighten back out :) happy shreddin'
@davidb1555
@davidb1555 Жыл бұрын
Most important is to keep your shoulders parallel with the with the board. People always open their shoulders towards the direction they are moving and it causes them to turn. Stay stacked and only have your head facing forward. Also, going directly down the fall line helps to stay in one direction. There is not a ton of control while only being on the tail.

How do you handle not to catch an edge on landing? Especially on tricks. I think that's my most frustrating thing while learning tricks.
@yondonjamtsganzorig7417
@yondonjamtsganzorig7417 Жыл бұрын
@C C Thanks, that's good point. It looks like he's using rocker snowboard. Theoretically, balancing your upper and lower body on landing could help not to catch an edge, but my body won't work like that way 😂
@sammietam4201
@sammietam4201 Жыл бұрын
I would detune, round off all the edge at the nose and tail area. It will be lot less catchy
@TheSpleenster
@TheSpleenster Жыл бұрын
Don’t listen to either of these fools. People been buttering and spinning for decades before 3BT was a thing and detuned edges are primarily for jibbing kinks. Not catching edges is about edge control and air/body awareness, not specialized gear or detuned edges. My recommendation is to learn the rotations you’re trying on flat snow so you know exactly where your edges need to be at any point in the rotation to avoid the dreaded edge catch. Then take it to small jumps, theoretically if you’re doing it right you can land 270/450/630 and skid the rest of the rotation without a hospital bill because your amplitude is small and your edges are up in the right position. Gradually add amplitude as you gain confidence. You don’t need as much air as you think to get even 5’s and 7’s around. Good luck!
