Yessir glad you look at Snowbreak again. Game is improving every patch and I think still hasn't reach it's peak but I'm optimistic it get there. Also thank god for 100% percent I despise 50/50(even though I'm playing 2 games that have it) it just motivate you to play the game more. Recently got luck pulling for S. Katya in just 50 on the 100%!

my main complaint is that the animations are pretty damn poor... bad camera panning, stiff poses, and theres alot of moments that look like its just a straight movement from keyframe to keyframe without any follow through or acceleration... its super jarring

Your original video, critical as it was to the game, actually put it on my radar for the first time and convinced me to give it a try, and I've been playing it daily ever since. It's kind of interesting how so many of your criticisms in that original video were fixed so quickly after the video's release. One thing I wish you went over in this revisit is how many free units they just give away. Whenever they run 2 new SSRs in a patch, the second one (usually a support) is given away, along with a complete logistics set that has their best substats already, just for logging in during that patch. So far that's Enya SSR, Fenny SSR, and soon, Marian SSR. I started a month after your first video and I have 14 SSRs, and I would have more if I hadn't gone for a couple signature weapons.

As a Snowbreak veteran, I had hoped that the game could pull through on doing solid and touching story work alone similar to Honkai 3rd's route, and I am sad that it had to pivot so hard into lewdness, but I can understand that the game was actively in its death throes and for them to turn it round is nothing short of miraculous. While I'm going to miss the touching stories that could have been about the girls themselves and each other such as Siris and Chenxing's friendship, the relationships between the girls and the adjutant are nevertheless still sufficiently touching that I'm playing the game still. If there was one odd business decision I noted early on, it's that the game was in fact simply too generous with its in game currency - you could with just a small fraction of luck pull for every limited character back to back with the amount of crystals doing the various game modes. The pivot into selling sexually charged scenes with only cash likely managed to offset the lack of earnings elsewhere.

I don't play this game, and i have no plants on doing so (4 gacha games is already way too much for me. And i dom't have a job yet!). However, one of my favorite parts of this game has to be the MC, also known as Adjutant. Every time i see him in the trailers, he is a badass character who step greatly into the action and threats their women as actual person, by considering their feeling but not going full horny 24/7 This is something similiar to the commandant in Pgr, which is also something i like. God, i love the fact that more and more games are taking inspiration from Pgr. This might be the hottest take in the history of gachas, but Pgr should be the standart for future gacha games, not Genshin (don't get me wrong, i don't mind open world gacha games, but i hate flipcoins)

You can do dailies in 5 minutes and still progress fine. One of the least timeconsuming gacha games you can play. I highly recommend it, you can even autoskip stages so you dont even need to play the grind stages like in some other games.

snowpeak truly made a comeback there's no moment more elating than pulling the new Katya with a 10 pull on the 100% banner lmao its worth to mention, the devs also stated that if they release 2 new limited operatives on a banner, one of the 2 will be free (this summer event were getting the new Marian for free) aside from improving the physics engine and such... weve literally had one feet update and an ass update tbh the only thing the game needs is to work on its net code, its kinda ass

All these QoLs are great, but events are still boring, gamplay variety is the same every time, I too won't spend money on it regardless, so skins are always missed. And, Linux players, have they fixed the game, after they broke it in this purple lady update? Not "go to terminal/steam properties and copy that code that may help", but actual fix?

I still can’t bring myself to play and like this game. That’s gonna be a hot take because I know how everyone praise it so much. First a bit of context : I played Snowbreak from week 1 until the first summer event. It was one of my first gacha games. I played it because I saw some ads about the game and I’m big fan of TPS, Sci-fi and post apocalyptic universes. I first quit snowbreak because the progression of the game didn’t feel good for me and the gameplay was simply too bland. However I was convinced that it was a pretty good basis that they will improve on over time, by adding enemies with more diverse patterns and mechanics. When the first summer event happened, I was pretty disappointed because there was nothing really new gameplay wise. But I was still curious about the story (chapter 11 preview was so good). So I stopped playing but with idea of coming back later, to see how the game would improve on everything and maybe become a regular player. Fast forward some months later, I see some discussion about the game and how much it changed. I saw a lot of tasty screenshots and told myself “oh right, the game seemed to have developed quite a bit, maybe I’ll give it another try”. I hated it. What was originally a TPS/Shooter game has now become a ecchi/hentai harem visual novel with occasional shooting. Now there is nothing inherently wrong with that. I do enjoy 2D/3D waifus with big assets. But it was simply not the same game. The community made a lot of feedback about UI, character designs, gameplay loop, progression, etc. And it felt like the devs focused on people complaining about not seeing enough booty in the game and totally shifted their focus toward that because it was easy money. It felt like they just gave up on any cool ideas that a 3D shooter gacha game taking place in a post apocalyptic setup could have brought and turned it into Koikatsu Party with guns. I understand that I am simply no longer that target audience for this game, but I’m really disappointed that we didn’t get major gameplay improvements. I would have played the game and enjoy the titties and booties as well if they were at least some efforts to make the fights less about constant shooting and more about positioning, dodging, playing around mechanics. Anyway I know I’m in a minority there. Good video, and I wish every snowbreak players a pleasant cooming session.

Relies heavily on hindsight and completely discredits dev vision, the whole reason indie gaming market is thriving (devs trying new ideas) and AAA is failing (devs stuck in old profitable systems, microtransactions, etc, and pandering to modern audience). Snowbreak is pandering rn, but you cant blame them. No one knows if their passion project will succeed or not. And not everyone has the funds to scrap and start anew. If u just didnt like the retcons that come with rebranding, then yea, id agree, but that initial start to make something you want is respectable over what the market wants. Everyone knows sex sells, so kudos to them for trying something else b4 falling back on it.

I'm glad you revisited the game. While you may not be the biggest content creator there is, you still have a decent sized community and in my opinion it would be injustice for your followers and the game to leave it at the initial review. Things change, some for better some for worse. In snowbreaks case things changed for the better. I have been following and playing the game since day of its release and things started rough but so does for many other games. One thing that remained constant is the devs consistent performance and work in improving the game and listening to the community. Most things mentioned in your initial review of the game were spoken by many players of the game and the devs listened, that is why when you now enter the game most things have been resolved. Seasun has a loyal follower in me thanks to their performance and their dedication to the game and the players that play it. Despite all the issues they had to deal, some of which was very rough like the VA drama caused by Mihoyo or the feminists attempting to take the game down, snowbreak lives and even thrives.

Dam, saw the video pops up like less than a minute uploaded I like the game still respects your time by allowing you to skip bunch of stuff so you can finish your daily in less than 3 mins and the gameplay still feels pretty fun and F2P friendly. Tho i wish some stuff can be skipped such as events with stage where you want to clear 10 separate waves and get up to 100K score weekly from it when one run could take a while for like 22K - 26K scores per run, it felt like a slog redoing a stage 4 - 5 times per week for that but those type of stage usually last for 2 weeks so 8 - 10 runs in total. Tho for me, i'll just have to let it rest until my PC got fixed because when you got so used to playing with Keyboard and mouse, playing on small mobile screen felt horrendous with all the buttons, especially doing weekly boss run if they tend to move a lot. I'd still recommend the game for those who want a side gacha that's still pretty fun to play, i guess there's not that many first person shooter gacha out there....i think.

The main problem with genshin and their reruns (also the release of skins) is that there almost always has to be an obligatory story related event to them to some degree. Its not always but most of the time it is the case or they wait for very specific seasons of the year to release a character like for example a lot of the liyue characters are saved for chinese new year or albedo and Eula kinda locked in only for winter patches (again not always but its the trend for them) this also applies to skins. All of the skins in the game currently have lore tied in which in theory is cool but it also limits creativity for skins imo (like it basically takes away the chance of sterootypical stuff being put in like swimsuits, maid outfits, casual wear, outfits characters usually wouldn't wear etc.)

I am torn about Snowbreak because I really liked it at launch. The story was setting up something cool, the vibes and outfits were very much my thing and the gameplay showed promise. Now, the “outfits” are barely there, gameplay has been deprioritized and the characters are vapid and one dimensional (in more than one way since the body types are much more homogenized for coomers). The thing is, the game was clearly going to fail so I can’t blame them for trying to succeed. It’s just that they trashed something good for mass appeal and drew into orbit some of the worst portions of the gacha playerbase. I know I’m in the minority since I like different personality types, different types of characters, variety in outfits etc. so as soon as every character is a milky mommy whose “clothing” barely contains their massive breasts I lose interest. There are other things that are more efficient to watch if I want that. And since they are hyperfocused on people who only care about coomer content, the actual gameplay suffers in addition to outfit/character design variety. I hope that with the money they make, they can make a game in the future that is actually what their vision originally was. But once you go that route and cultivate that kind of community, they might just be stuck with it.

Yeah, the whole fiasco the devs faced months ago costed them more than half their staff. This current patch I believe is the first patch that their new trainees were able to work on. I suppose the long patch cycles previously were due to them working with literally the bare minimum. There was even a reference to this by Acacia who hinted at how bad the working conditions gotten.

They are a small studio and they went for months having lost more than half of their staff. If there is a situation like GFL2, then they would never be able to recover. Catering to the yuri crowd is what saved the company. Come to think of it, I don't think GFL2 recovered either. Edit: Lol not yuri crowd, I meant waifu and harem lovers. Though personally, I would've preferred monogamy and player choice in romance since I prefer Siris and Cherno over Lyfe and Fenny.

I don't blame the devs. They didn't go the coomer route originally, but the original playerbase was either too poor or not spending nearly enough to keep the lights on. Which isn't a bad thing, I might add. You, like the original players, seem to be the type that are smart with your money. You don't waste it on stuff like this. Sorry for long paragraph and very off-topic tangent, but Honkai Impact used to be like this in terms of Captain of Hyperion's relationships with his Valkyries, it's just that his face never been shown and most of the older events like Valentine Days to Birthday CGs and Chinese New Year events were timegated to very specific days (hence you see them only in archives by now, not even people know the keywords), on top of Captain gradually separated and jumped into multiverse of his own and get less and less respected by the newer "fans" that are yuri fans on twitter/reddit/tiktok (I'm not kidding, any 4koma Captain illustration is looked with enmity despite even official pages featured him from time to time in fanarts, it's like Mihoyo suddenly ashamed of his existence in lore despite Evangelion X Honkai Impact collab were connected through Captainverse) And to those that claim Luna being "the only canon wife of Captain", they never know of how in-deep the older fandom of Honkai Impact with Captain X Kiana, Captain X Himeko (in fact Mihoyo kinda refueled the sparks again with Genshin Impact's Capitano X Mavuika, though Captain exploring Mihoyo's narrative of multiverse for longer since like late 2018 and early 2019 onwards in events), Captain X Rita (even in Rita Birthday this year, the main story Rita took him on a date, though it's CN-voiced and exclusively in Chinese Hoyolab back then) It's crazy that Mihoyo could have Captain into interesting narratives since many of the Honkai lore concepts were helped build by Captain's events up into Honkai Star Rail and even bits and pieces in Genshin Impact (such as Skirk with Quantum-like element to Jean and Diluc (which he was former Cavalry Captain of Favonius Knights) being similar to Durandal & Captain, down to both Jean and Durandal admiration and affection to respective Diluc and Captain of Hyperion) Mihoyo's HI3 Dev team decision to prevent Captain to prevent closer interactions with his Valkyries are major mistakes, considering that Captain used to jumping between "bubble" and "leaf" universes to helped Kiana back in the developing Honkai Impact main story and early Captain events, through Kiana's Birthday CGs back in 2019 to 2020 (prior to Arc City growth to months after Lament of The Fallen animated short), in fact Honkai Star Rail has 2-3 references from Captain events in Silverwolf and Robin trailers too (on top of main story Himeko's blade, when Captain was eyewitness account to Himeko's death back in Chinese New Year first "Honkai Three Kingdoms" event in 2019 when he reminisced confession to Corsair Himeko) There's a lot of links to this, unfortunately youtube doesn't allow to upload screenshot stuffs in the comments for evidences, piecing this obscure lore in Mihoyo games is like excavating Archeology while reminiscing stuffs from everything I played since January 2018 to even today, almost 3 years before Genshin Impact even released worldwide lol

Nice, thanks for giving this game a second look after the change in their direction. This time, I can understand not wanting to continue playing (I mean following 2 gachas is already hard work), but I do like that you give this one a second look, and able to see the changes for good or bad. As for Snowbreak, I am glad for this change. There is another controversy involving the CN voice actors, but I guess not many foreigners would care for that. Snowbreak is pretty much a success story, and from China no less. This game while being from a small company, has received a lot of focus from not only China, but Japan and other countries too. Heck, it is to the point that Mihoyo has started eyeing on them (related to the CN voice actors controversy mentioned). So yes, Snowbreak really did deserve its success.

i enjoyed the game when it first came out, but fan-service doesn't interest me and that's pretty much all they've be doing so i stopped playing a while ago. it's good that they're doing well but the game that i loved is gone, which is a bit sad.

So... they took out male operators... because of feminism? I don't even like feminism, but I know that's bull crap. They just didn't want "competition" for their 2D, non-existent waifus. Guaranteed, they made up the feminism thing as an excuse, because the actual reason is too pathetic to utter out loud. Jeezus, this game seems like a trip and a half. Edit: After watching the full video, No. It hasn't convinced me to try it. These games are such a commitment that I can't see myself spending time with more than 1 at a time. I've tried that before, and it's a good way to burnout almost immediately. I've got my hands full with Nikke, which is my current "maybe gacha have gotten better?" rebound game, and I can't say that I understand the hype for that one either.

No, that's just what the CN players were saying, I think. The reason the devs did it is to avoid drama since they are a small studio recovering from having lost more than half of their staff. Basically, they're just playing it safe which paid off so far.
