It's not a traffic problem. The movement is the same as yours. It's just that people have too much freedom. And often this freedom goes into the all-permissiveness mode. There is a huge metro in Moscow and a lot of ground transport. Given that Moscow is about 40 kilometers long in all directions, the metro is the best option. And the price is only 60 cents without time and length restrictions until you leave the subway.

The only times I drive a car on the pavement in Norway, is when I do surveying work in the nearby area and need easy access to the equipment stored in the car. If there is a queue, you wait in the line like everyone else! No one but people in emergency situations deserve to take those kinds of shortcuts.

That's the reason they're so fucking wide over there.Their cities apparently weren't designed with car traffic in mind, and were focused on public transport instead (poor commies). Then when personal wealth and car usage exploded, of course the roads struggle to cope. Therefore the emergency services have to blast down the sidewalks otherwise they'd never get anywhere in time due to the jams.
