No he didn't, he said that "He won a murder acquittal, which lead to the death of an innocent woman." (JP subs) Yeah, Yagami did find out that Okubo is innocent and defended an innocent man all along, but that won't erase how his first criminal case made Shono kill Emi
@DavidHosey13 жыл бұрын
No he didn’t, he literally won an acquittal and it led to innocent death. On top of that, the entire point of Yagami’s character in the Judgment games is that he always doubts himself, so Kuwana trying his best to get Yagami on his side is a smart move given who he is
@DavidHosey13 жыл бұрын
@@reapeashooter2 exactly this!! I don’t think any writer is perfect but I find it funny that I’m basically Kuwana at the end. The games pay painstaking attention to previous events and explain them all, it’s just that some people won’t always notice it lol
@Hezzadude123 жыл бұрын
@@reapeashooter2 There was an entire plot about Emi Terasawa being an insignificant worker and that her dying wouldn’t mean much. She already worked under Shono. It had nothing to do with Shinpei Okubo being set free, that was ultimately just an excuse that Shono was able to capitalise on, but it was also something somewhat pre-meditated by him. Did you just forget that entire plot point about Shono? Did we play the same game? Kuwana is pretty explicitly saying that it was Yagami’s fault. It literally was not; that was the point of my comment. It was Shono’s fault and the entire previous game determined that. Bruh.
@KusabiTetsugoro3 жыл бұрын
@@Hezzadude12 that’s not the point Kuwana‘s trying to make. He’s not accusing Yagami for being guilty of Emi’s death. He‘s using this example to justify his own actions by pointing out the similarities between them. Both of them did what had to be done (from Kuwana’s perspective at least) and in both cases their actions led to the deaths of innocent people, because getting an acquittal for Okubo made Shono kill Emi. I would argue that the fact that Okubo was indeed innocent made Kuwana’s point actually almost valid. Yagami did what had to be done and was right all along. Emi’s blood is not on his hands. Using this as an analogy, Kuwana’s trying to make a point that Sawa-sensei’s blood is not on his hands as well, because you can’t be responsible for collateral damage if you just did the right thing (again, that is not my evaluation of Kuwana’s actions, it’s just that Kuwana himself is convinced that his actions were right)

More like Yakuza 6: Haruka's common sense and virginity dies
@DavidHosey13 жыл бұрын
Her common sense? That was fine in all of the games, she was just in tough spots and made understandably rocky choices. Like coming out as Kiryu’s family, or leaving Morning Glory/Sunshine to take the pressure off of the kids. People seem to forget that unlike a lot of stories these characters are written to be human, and that comes with rash mistakes sometimes. Daigo, Haruka, Kiryu, Majima, and more show this a ton, and it honestly makes these stories some of the best written I’ve seen in a unique way

@DavidHosey13 жыл бұрын
@@beefheart3198 uhh what? Lol Did we play the same series? At 9 she was lost in a Tokyo district, and would’ve died or been captured if Kiryu weren’t there. At 16-19 she survived what is commonly known to be one of the harshest industries in Japan, a mentor who was very complicated and used her for her own advantage, looked after an entire orphanage, and then only left when her presence would’ve been a harm to the kids. Her mother never told her to not run away, that’s just something Reina didn’t say. She said look after yourself, which Haruka did. And that bit of “she had a hot girl summer with a Yakuza of all people?” Seriously bro? She was running for her life from the literal Chinese mafia and sought shelter with people who proved themselves to be friends. That’s as far from a stereotypical “hot girl summer” as I can imagine lmao. And part of the point of these games is that people aren’t defined by their status in society. What does it matter that she found friends and family in yakuza? She literally already did with Kiryu, and regardless saying that is missing one of the biggest points of these stories TLDR: Haruka only got more mature and capable, you must be misremembering the stories. I’d suggest playing through them again so you can remember from now on, they’re top tier stories after all :)
@beefheart31983 жыл бұрын
@@DavidHosey1 You're the one not remembering dummy. Literally the last scene as Yumi was dying, she told Haruka not to run away or she'll miss her happiness. Look up the clip if you want. It matters because she left home to be an idol and not contact Kiryu BECAUSE he was a Yakuza, she got followed by paparazzi because she revealed she was associated with a Yakuza! Why go get teen pregnant by one!? She ran away fine, but maybe don't get knocked up? Like she couldnt have asked her rich uncle Akiyama to help her disappear safely. You y6 apologists make me sick.
@DavidHosey13 жыл бұрын
@@beefheart3198 yeah, but that scene you’re talking about isn’t literal. Why would a dying mother’s last words to her daughter be “don’t run away from home?” She was obviously being figurative, saying stand up for yourself and don’t always run at the signs of danger. If you don’t stand up in the face of adversity, you won’t be able to find a life that’s truly worth living happily in. She was also clearly basing this off of her experiences, of how she suppressed and ignored all of the problems in her life as well as the people attached to them, like Nishiki and Reina, instead of facing them and living truly. Haruka’s speech at the end of 5 is literally her doing just the opposite as her mother wanted, facing the problems and embracing the family that’s connected to them. That’s what 1’s ending meant. It was a super meaningful and impactful scene, and I had a message that Haruka embodies all the way. Yumi never told her not to run away from home, that just doesn’t make sense lol Now you’re just making 0 sense, sorry to say. Yes, she left everything because Kiryu was yakuza. But that’s the entire point at the end. Being an idol wasn’t her life path or dream, and she wanted to live proudly with those that she loved. That’s why she left the industry, like anyone else in her position would if they wanted to live their own way. “Why go get teen pregnant by one?” That sentence makes no sense, but if you’re acting like her pregnancy was a problem, again, that was the point. She didn’t choose to get pregnant, and Yuta was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father than he practically avoided Haruto until the kid was almost killed like 5 times. She found someone she could trust and had a single night with him (as an adult), none of that breaks the narrative or makes her dumb. It makes her human. It makes her normal. If you can’t see otherwise then that’s on you bud. And she did go to Akiyama if you remember correctly. It was partially because of her that Sky Finance was shut down, Hana was sent away, and Akiyama was homeless/on the run from the Saio. These are basic facts man, come on lol Sorry to say, but no one is a “Y6 apologist,” there’s nothing to try to apologize for or justify in the first place. The series is top tier in story, and 6 is one of the best out of the bunch too. Go ahead and insult me if you want, but it doesn’t change the facts of you being wrong and the story being right. Hopefully one day you’ll get to remember the story for what it really was :)

He’s probably just referring to the trauma of it. Sure Yagami solves the case but for like 3 years he believed he fucked up big time. I imagine that left some impression on Yagami, redemption or not
@thommygoot76963 жыл бұрын
It’s the fact that if he never won the first murder acquittal in the first place, Emi would have survived even if Okubo went to prison.
@DavidHosey13 жыл бұрын
@@murrettoman2590 nah he was talking about the acquittal leading to innocent death, as well as the trauma. All that is fact and important, especially since Yagami is still struggling with the scars that come from it

I don't know if this summary is correct for all of the Yakuza Games but feel free to correct any of this at the reply. Spoiler (or sth) ahead: Yakuza 0: Kuze never leaves us alone. (Word from Max0r) Yakuza 1/ Kiwami 1: Aww, Nishiki keep his promise with Kiryu. Yakuza 2/Kiwami 2: Maybe I'm a secret Jingweon Mafia? Yakuza 3: Kiryu roast Mitsuo and then Daigo died (and then Blacku Mondei take over Tojo). Yakuza 4: Rubber Bullet Yakuza 5: Dream (oh and -that funny guys in brown jacket- Shinada) Yakuza 6: All of this because of a boat? Yakuza 7: Go your way! And believe in yourself! Judge Eyes: The Mole Penumbra. Lost Judgment: Something something, Unwavering Belief. Bonus: Kenzan!(Arrive!): (Not have enough knowledge of this game tbh) Ishin!(Restoration!): Me and the boys going to restore Japan. Kurohyou 1 and 2 (Black Panther): Local angry teenager beat people up. Dead Souls (of the END): Feel so good man. Lost Paradise: You're already dead/drunk.

To me it almost seemed like projection? From emi-chan’s accident. And tbf kuwana and yagami weren’t the same in terms of morals, however it felt rough seeing yagami blame sawa’s death completely on Kuwana when it wasn’t entirely on him
@SnowiestAngeman3 жыл бұрын
Yeah legit it's like: Kuwana: Yagami, I don't think I'm going to round my purchase up to the nearest dollar to donate to charity. Yagami: Is that what Sawa-sensei would've wanted?! I don't think so!
@nat32993 жыл бұрын
@@SnowiestAngeman quite literally. Yagami doesn’t realize that kuwana didn’t even know that soma was going to do that at all, it’s fucked because her death could’ve been technically triggered by any action
