Just a little trail maintenance! Grooming or pulling a drag makes for nice snowmobile trails, here's my set up.

Thats a decent groomer. I've made groomers out of hardwood pallets by reconfiguring the planks to a V shape and adding 2ft off the back. The longer the groomer, the less tendency to follow the terrain.

I make drages like this your smart light weight and like any back woods trails just pray you don't grab on stumps but a tip just wood frame is good and use long threaded half inch rod nuts and bolts to hold it together strong my advice keep it very simple we all have a bad habit of keep adding to much garbage to it so I say keep it cheep and simple

Great job. I also use lightweight trailsetters. Nice

Not only easier on equipment, but also lets you speed up on the long check days. Mine has a flush to the ground side and flips over so there is a gap when lots of snow. Also put a tire in the hitch when it decides to find something solid. Longer the better!

Looks like your trail groomer works great. Just about looks like a highway behind you! I have never used a good groomer. Sometimes pulled a tire with with minimal results. Thanks for sharing Brother

Thanks Jim, I find grooming the main trails just a few times a winter is much easier on the equipment.

Not sure the old tundra would pull that up the long hills and through tight timber I have, but that works really great, thanks for sharing, great channel

I have a groomer somewhat like this one it was sixteen feet long. I would pull a sleigh and the groomer with a old 250 cc tundra longtrack with ease. Excellent design for a groomer.

Good job. I'd like to make a groomer for lake trails, that shaves off wind blown moguls and fills in the dips. My idea is that it would be on skates that would dig down and skate along the ice. And the whole thing would be height adjustable with about 4 legs that the skates would be attached to, to set you blades at the mid point or so of the mogul depth. Skates would have to be designed so the helped pull the unit down and maintained contact with ice as best as possible also. Just an idea bumbling around in my head. Sounds like your from Canada's east coast?

What sled are you using to pull the groomer. Nice job grooming too. Many folks go too fast. You’re doing it right! 👍

that breakaway system is the best idea ive heard yet. Just use some wire as a cheap sheer pin eh or maybe that's a bad idea. Not sure why I thought that.

At 2:28 left a top stub from a fallen tree in the trail.. could be a spear to stick into a snowmobile and not end well. Great drag there for making trail.

It's been good actually, I recently added a stick on block heater to the side of the engine and throw a blanket over the hood and have started it down to -38C that way.

Nice groomer what did u use for the cutter blades? What's the length of it and the width of the groomer sled
@whatido3021
@whatido3021 Жыл бұрын
I believe it is 42" wide by 12' long, for the blades I just cut a piece of 4" pipe in half so the cutters have a nice roll to them.
