Vladimir, always appreciate your introspective approach to your tying....a characteristic that separates a good tyer from one of exception.

What a fabulous-looking dry fly Vladimir !...great tip re: multi-wraps winding through the clumps of the snowshoe to strengthen and position the fur wing/s...I like using snowshoe wings quite often for dry-dropper/duo rig fishing on faster-flowing streams (CDC for slower stretches)...great video, thanks for sharing, all the best

Glad to hear that you like it. I use dame logic for snowshoe vs cdc.....cdc is for slow water and picky fish. 🍻🍻

Nice instruction and "wall" formation with thread control. If you are looking for content, a comparison between CDC and Snowshoe Hare for "wing" might be interesting (pros/cons of each). Thanks.

Ahoj Vladimir. Again you offer some good tying tips and a pattern that can be adapted into many different mayfly species. I’ll definitely be using the snowshoe wings on my Hendrickson and Sulfur flies. Keep ‘em coming. Dobru noc.

Glad you like it. Its the style, exactly as you pointed out. Changing color and size makes so many different insects.

Craig Mathews, the originator of the sparkle dun, has been doing the multi thread wraps thru the wing since he designed the fly. 👍

these types of mylar wrapped flies (especially sow bugs) have been immensely successful in my local rivers, however I've noticed that the mylar always slides down the body, if I wrap it tighter it tends to stretch and discolor or whiten the mylar, if i add superglue to the underside it helps but then discolors the body, this can help, but I am not sure if it actually does, or if I'm imagining it. What can I do to keep the mylar in place? Thank you so much for your videos, they have been very very helpful in my learning =D
@Oholisfliesandfishing
@Oholisfliesandfishing 9 ай бұрын
There is a "trick", i honestly dont bother but it is good to have options. Weap mylar around wire and use that as ribbing. Or simply dubb body softly so mylar bites deeper into dubbing. It will be slightly more durable

How well does the snowshoe float compared to a similar amount of CDC?
@Oholisfliesandfishing
@Oholisfliesandfishing 9 ай бұрын
Its pretty similar. Easier to maintain and rinse. Also on very slow water cdc is more readily taken by fish.
