I once had a dog like that, it was very brave and not afraid of anything, but unfortunately I lost the dog because I let it walk into a trap set by local people. I will spend my whole life remembering my dog holy

Good to see the beagles on this show. I have been hunting behind my dad’s beagles for 40 years. We always show the dogs the rabbit after it’s shot, they need closure. Not sure I would send a lab in to take it before they make it there. Either way a cools video, glad to see a decent population of hare up there.

Nice seein the dog bone guys and how there dogs really work when they dont have control over the edit. They still appear to do great! The biggest the i wanna see from them is what it looks like when the dogs aint being worked and just hangin out.

Had beagles as a kid. I always loved hunting with them. As I grew up so did the dogs and we haven’t hunted over a dog in 20 years probably. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

that was the best time i have ever had hunting, i had been the shell toter and dead game wrngler since i was 4 but the day when i was ten we all got out of the truck and my grandpa handed an old bolt action 410, i dange near swoon. i missed a pheasant but tagged two running cottontail. man was i proud and happy! there have been thousands of days in the field since that november morning in 1965 but none more memorable, so, i kinda get that look on the kids face "you old men here to talk or are we gonna hunt???"

Brings back a lot of memories. My Dad had 4 beagles when I was a teenager. We used to hunt all day and would have to carry the dogs back to the truck. Thise GPS collars would be a game changer for sure.

The pad fur of the feet of those snowshoes is an excellent fly tying material for dry flies and nymph bodies. If you have any friends that tie they might appreciate them. Sure looked like a fun hunt.

Excellent rabbit hunting video. the best I have seen. Just forwarded it to my buddy telling him to check it out and what a great rabbit hunting video it was. I told him that I shouldn't be surprised, you boys hunt hard, like we used to 30yrs ago! 😂 If you get more time to hunt snowshoe hare (rabbits) on bare ground in winter, you guys should really consider filming a hunt using 22LR rifles. That is a great hunt with a couple buddies, and you guys have a great crew to go after them.

No snow would be the best for filming, but hunting them on snow with a 22 and looking for that black eye is fun too! But would be tougher to get footage.

Since deer season is done for me it's officially squirrel season which leads into coyote season and turkey season then back to coyote season which brings me back to deer season. One day elk season will mix in there before deer season. 🤙

Been trying so hard to get any rabbit but I never see them in the area I hunt. Not in the daylight anyway and very rarely at night. Once, years ago, I swear I had probably 30 of them running all over the road at night. I don't see them at all until I am hunting deer. After 5 years of hunting I finally got a shot off at a snowshoe on my way home. There being no snow until Jan helped a lot in spotting them. Missed twice (.22 not shotgun), never got him but I was shaking like I just spotted a big buck lol. Probably not the best country for them because it is mostly ag and pasture. Sask. Not a whole lot of bush, even less so that so many big farmers are pushing bush but all the ones I saw this year were sunning themselves on brush piles.
