Great, professional review. A massive amount of information given just from your memory is amazing. Coming from a man that rides them couldn’t be any more accurate!! Thank you for the time that you and your sons take to do these. I know your not making bank doing these walk arounds. It benefits the potential new buyers. Thank you again from a Artic Cat Turbo owner!!! Safe ridding to you and your boys!!!

This is one of the best videos on sleds I've ever seen! One example is you describing the differences on how brakes work when coupled to the jack shaft or track drive shaft/cog. Very nice, in depth review/comparison! Looking forward to seeing your other videos! Thank you!! PS Thanks for the great idea for putting my mating chipmunks in the "glove box" for the season!

Another great Polaris infomercial, read off Polaris q-cards in typical Polaris Trax fashion. Polaris is the greatest. Always sticking little digs at other manufacturers(BRP)!! Yes and fuel accuracy, I know of a few guys running out last year?? Also other more unbiased mags did mention handle bar placement when cornering to intrusive at times.

You mentioned that the fuel gauge “surprisingly accurate”. Virtually all the reviews I have seen by owners of the 2021 VR1 sleds list the fact that the fuel gauge is very inaccurate as one of this sleds drawbacks. Did they change anything for 2022?

Have a 21 assault and find the headlight is excellent straight ahead but not enough light to the sides my axys was better and I find the seat too narrow for long sit down trail riding, the wide part of the seat doesn't match my height and arm length some adjustment or seat option would be nice when snow checking.

I grew up with sleds in Minnesota, went to college with the daughter of the president of Polaris in the 80's, a classmate was a test rider for Polaris before he went to college, a friend was an engineer at the Brute factory (remember that one). For the life of me I can't see the emphasis on fast. Bouncing down a trail with 170 hp and worrying about cornering on snow while going past the equivalent of 10,000 fire hydrants waiting to snag me into oblivion is not a priority. Bragging rights to 10 second quartermiles won't matter at all once you are riding. Can't someone make a light sled that is reliable and simple that uses ability based on lack of weight and balance that doesn't need an extra gas can to get home? You can take it into the mountains and get it stuck and can pull it around and ride on top of the snow back home. Alone. Without a twang rope or a crew. There must be a way. These "rocket" sleds steer the industry into groups all congregated in a spot watching each other take turns at tricks like a bunch of skate boarders. My dream is a 250 lb sled that you can ride off trail or on and can be flipped around like an old tundra lt if you get stuck but has the power and performance engineering of this era. About 50 hp. Don't need a Ninja and don't want a tracked suburban. Am I just that far away from what snowmobiling is today?

My next sled, the only thing I don’t love about it is the engine sound. 2 strokes in the late 70’s still sound sooooo nice, a 79 TXL, 79 Blizzard 7500, or SRX sound amazing and always put a smile on your face. The new 998 4-stroke turbos also sound amazing but that is a totally different technology. Polaris should tune their pipes a little better to get that sweet 2 stroke ting, ting, ting...

Nice looking sled from Polaris but their fit and finish and engine technology is far behind Ski-Doo and Rotax. Brembo brakes that Ski-Doo uses are world class so his comments regarding braking is hilarious. Brakes on Ski-Doo work well and far safer because if chain breaks you still have brakes. Jack shaft brakes don’t work if chain breaks which does happen!!! Polaris has a far better headlight than Ski-Doo but that’s about it. pDrive primary clutch on Ski-Doo is superior to P-85 because it has less friction due to using rollers. Polaris primary hasn’t changed in 36 years.

The BAD: Touchscreen kinda impractical. Hands won't stay protected from the wind- might if they had a plastic guard. Too narrow around the seat will provide less control, not more. Drive axle brakes are better. If that chain brakes you have no brakes. Panels are easy to remove (read: steal.) Aluminum arm will bend and will cost a small fortune to replace. The GOOD: Good headlights and storage. Strong motor and good suspension.
