I thought they were gonna take off with all the snow and I’d watch it blow off.😂
@chriscrocvlogs4 жыл бұрын
Nicholas Matthews that would be dangerous. The snow and ice on the wings would greatly restrict the air flow over the wings and there would likely not be enough lift generated for takeoff. That’s why it has to be de-iced. The aircraft could overrun the runway or lose height, basically becomes harder to fly and more risky. Those black lines on the wing are to do with this. If there’s ice within the borders of the black lines, the aircraft wings don’t need deiced as it makes sure the ice won’t affect the wing’s lift generation.

I thought so too 😩😩

Me being a ramp agent, This would be a BIG HECK NO!!. The ACFT would struggle taking off risking everyone's lives. Even though I don't like deicing, I'd deice this thing myself.

Mergg No friend, you are not correct about the lines on the wing. Part of the lines which mark the way to go behind the wing rather than in front and the arrows are there to show people not to go off the wing in front of the engines. Of course I didn’t list all the effects of ice and snow, just some of them. I know about this, and the BLACK LINES ARE TO DO WITH ICING. They tell the pilots of areas where some icing is okay and will not affect the wings. Watch this video before you spout lies and dis my knowledge of aviation. My uncle’s a 737 pilot, I know what I’m talking about. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKrYYqKug5Z3eJI I’m right, you’re wrong☺️☺️☺️

I'm wondering why they moved the flight controls before the de-icing. This is not the standard procedure and it is definetly not recommended by the manufacturer as contamination like ice could potentially be present below the snow and damage the critical surfaces. Thanks for the video
@alexisalexis93575 жыл бұрын
@Steven Strain Thanks for your answer Steven. I do not know anything about Boeing (I'm more used to Airbus procedure). I would have thought it is the same principle for all aircrafts to not moving any critical surfaces before the de-icing as it could logically damage mechanism if ice was present.

We think that Aerospace tech is only on the jets, but man, this deicing rig is a serius bussiness. Crucial piece of safety

You need a LOT of passengers to collect enough to de-ice a plane.

The wing would still be cold (and get stuck so the flaps won’t work anymore).

That's what wiggins does
@LottiDotti763 жыл бұрын
@@excavationgg8535 you do realize the Air temp in flight is well below freezing. The flaps would still work fine. The ice buildup on the wings anywhere could seriously affect airflow over the wing creating lack of lift leading to a possible crash.

Is it just me or the de icing process is very satisfying? 🤔

For those that don't know. The de-icing fluid comes straight from the urinals in the men's room.

I think they pay a flat rate no matter the amount of de-icings they do :)
@shadowxxe4 жыл бұрын
would rather have that than a huge mound of snow flying off on take-off and hitting the plane
@bigsby2114 жыл бұрын
Better the deicing bill than losing the plane because of snow and possibly ice on the wings not to mention the possible loss of life if plane crashes.
