I am all for celebrating the birth of Jesus every December, but the thing that gets me excited about Christmas is that our daughter usually comes home to visit. Actually it was more fun when she was the age of your children. I enjoyed your Christmas Eve walk in the snow and was a little concerned when you walked up that ravine. I pray that you and your family are having a a blessed Christmas and always experience much Peace, Joy, and Happiness.

I love the snow i like tracking animals in the snow just to see what their up to,trees and creeks are also beautiful in the snow,for some reason when is snows a good several inches and just blankets everything to me it's so peaceful and serene and I love the smell of outside in the snow,it just gives me a wonderful warmth and tender feeling in my heart,it takes me back to my childhood and precious memories with my family playing in the snow.

Some good bird spotting! We had about the same snow here this morning. 1 inch or less but have 3-5” more under it. Love that big old sycamore, too bad it’s dying but something will replace it with time. Ice always makes such amazing patterns and sounds. I get you on Christmas, I’m flyin’ solo so I don’t get into it but I hope you all can enjoy the day and have a happy Christmas.

Hello Creek Walker and thanks for posting another great hike. I tried to have that tree nominated by PA Big Trees as the tallest sycamore in the state but without luck. It’s over 140 feet tall and taller than the current tallest “champion” sycamore in their data base. The old tree is in rapid decline now.I don’t think it will be around too much longer. It’s nice to know that you pay your respects when you can

You are 1 lucky girl to be able to experience all that. That is a nice creek and that looked like a really nice trip, nice trees, especially that Sycamore. That's a big one. And in the snow, I'm a little jealous! Birch trees have a smell that takes me back to being a kid, it is a very early memory for me and 1 of the first trees I learned to identify. I think that might be a black birch, maybe, and now see your connection to the beavers - you both eat bark!

Nice dusting of snow for Christmas. You have so many intriguing landscapes in your beautiful PA. ! I must come see it sometime. Our Eastern Bluebirds migrated in early October. Cool to see them so close playing around the creek bottom. I have Ironwood tree's in the woods at the Farm in WI. They are similar to your Beech tree's. Your Beech have huge root legs all around the trunks though which is a big difference. They are sturdy tough anchors for the tree's. You mentioned eating Birch bark and having a tea. There is Betulin in the the bark and Betulinic acid is a anti inflammatory and good for certain types of cancer. A Musical shout out for, Colter Wall from Saskatchewan, Canada. I found your channel quite by accident. As usual i click on a vid i think might be interesting and commit myself to 2 min. I admit that i can`t tell the difference between a Birch and a Maple tree, but i became intrigued by your love of Nature and your description of it. When i saw PA Creek Walker i was curious if you were from Pennsylvania and from where in the State. In order to find out i watched your vid where you talked about yourself. You mentioned your Grandmother lived in the Poconos. I was struck by your openness and willingness to bare your soul. I so enjoyed your walk through the woods on Christmas Eve. Your videography was beautiful. Great job. I share your love of the Fox. Not so much the Shark. I am a transplant from Western Pa. to Florida and am not fond of them at all.
