What a great place to railfan, especially during the winter months. If you like this location, consider trying Essex, MT in the middle of Glacier Park. They have the historic Izaak Walton Inn, and an operating freight yard where all the helper engines reside. They assist in pulling freights up to the continental divide in both directions, the Empire Builder stops daily, and the food in the Inn is just superb. They also have a footbridge over the double-track mainline that's great for movie taking!

Those are 737 fuselages that will go to Renton. The excess height cars being dropped will be taken up the hill into the Everett plant by the pair of GP38's.

I drive a five axle semi for a living and can only gross 80,000lbs..Can you imagine how many trucks it would take to haul all this freight?
@pacific.nw.videos3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for keeping our country moving! It would take tons of trucks to do the job of one train :)

Great snowfall at the 36:40 mark. I was wondering about the meeting of the two trains. Which one was on the up hill? It looks as though the train that is stopped is on the uphill leg. What say you?
@pacific.nw.videos6 жыл бұрын
WJack97224 If memory serves you are correct. The stopped train is on the uphill leg before the Cascade Tunnel.

Ah AMTK 197's k5L echo through the valley is reminiscent of the BC Rail days with their echoing K5H's
