Another great video. doesn't matter how old it is this info is timeless! thanks again. made my snub mount install so much easier.
@JeffBoen Жыл бұрын
Just a few notes for posterity for anyone doing this in 2022+. The car Justin was working on didn't have fog lights installed. If you still have your fogs you'll want to disconnect them *before* dropping the bumper. I broke a fog bulb (luckily I had a spare) when the bumper came off with the fog still connected, so be careful. Oh, and if you still have your headlight washers connected you don't actually need to disco them (unless you're doing this on a very high lift). I had my car just about 18" off the ground and the bumper could be set off to the driver's side with all washer hoses still attached. Thanks again for the helpful step-by-step, Justin. It made swapping my snub mount much easier!

Hi. Great videos! I'm a kart mechanic, not a car mechanic, but I work on my b5 s4 all the time. Your explaining why you do certain jobs a certain way, and that makes all the difference! Again great videos.

I like how your videos are always thorough! And how you explain different ways to go about a job! Never be scared of the service position, Once you do it one time you can have your car in the service position in like 15 min. Easy peasy. Pretty much the same on this generation A6's as well with minor differences. I myself also never taken the headlights off, I just use a long enough extension to clear them. And you can just pop the sides of your bumper off by pulling firmly (Not rough or hard), Toward the ground and out. Should pop right off. Pops back in the reverse order and I think the left/drivers side might be popped in/out up or down don't remember completely off the top of my head. Heck I did my first timing belt job without removing the A/C lines or headlights, You just have to be much more careful with all that hardware and I wouldn't ever recommend doing it that way for a customer car. No A/C for me now though till I have the system flushed & refilled, Had to have the system emptied & remove the lines to do an engine swap after my rod bearings on the old motor got spit out into the oil pan.. Not a fun job to take on but im happy especially since I found out I had no snub mount!

Wow...what a great video on how to replace snub mount, I really enjoy the steps by step. If only this was a B7 S4 it would be more awesome, but I think it is similar procedure. Keep up the good work. Thanks.

Great video. Thanks. Sweet lift also! I've been looking for a lift for the garage, that's a perfect size.

Guys, I just replaced mine in 10 minutes without taking it to service position. There is enough room to do it! 1) - take those 3 bolts out. 2) cut-out whatever left from the old one. 3) grease new mount (I had black rubber "mushroom") 4) Jack the engine a bit on the front and turn the bracket one hole down (side way compare to mounted position) 5) if you angle it right and push it fairly hard with grease it will snag in place. 6) mount bracket back in place. 7) enjoy your free 2 hours that you saved.

Hi there Justin! I got a question about the core support. Does it affect interior vibration and sudden loudness in the engine noise (outside the engine sounds perfectly fine and usual) ? I recently skidded of a road and spun my B5 but I did not hit anything. Now the car interior panel and steering is vibrating at idle and the hood of the car is also rattling. It goes away at a little more RPM.

what does the snub mount do?
@JustinBallou018 жыл бұрын
The snub mount is a hockey puck shaped piece of rubber. It fits over a protrusion at the front of the motor and fits into a cage mounted behind your radiator support. It assists in keeping the front of the motor from moving around too much under throttle load.
@khaleelahmed10978 жыл бұрын
where did you get your lift from?
@JustinBallou018 жыл бұрын
Costco online has them. You can also go to MaxJax website and find a dealer. Once in a while, Costco will have great prices on them.

+Justin Ballou how would you rate the maxjax 1 being really poor and 10 being really good
@JustinBallou018 жыл бұрын
There are a few things I dislike about it1. the auto locking, regular professional Lifts have these, this unit is just a metal bar you stick through a hole.2. the hydro connections could be of better quality.Otherwise I have been very happy with my purchase. It has done exactly what I need it to do.

@Lawguy20095 жыл бұрын
@Mike Corbett Did you figure out how to get it out without removing the bumper?
@scotthsmith86355 жыл бұрын
DW Red. You’re mistaken. On this model you Must put the bumper in service position. I have a 2007 A6 and Audi changed the motor bracket bolt location to the front of the motor. If you do not have this front bolt type then you are right. You can simply remove the Motor side bolted frame and remove.
