You do a fabulous job of explaining each step, how you do it and so on. Wonderfully explicit and clear. I just wonder how much yarn to purchase, the yards and number of skeins, etc. Cm to inch conversion is not my strongest suit. Thanks for the awesome video.

Hi! So firstly thank you so much for the lovely comment 😀 Imperial measurements aren’t my strong point but for a rough guide 1 inch is about 2.5cm so you can divide my figures by 2.5 to get a rough estimate of size. I personally use an app called “amount” for conversions - it’s great! The yardage of the yarn I like to use is 262 yards per ball and I use roughly 3.5 balls for a blanket this size. Hope that helps 😀

Absolutely, thank you for clarifying. That will help a great deal when looking for yarn. I really appreciate reversible blankets!!

Hi, thanks for the tutorial. I would like to make this blanket using three different colours. Do you think I can? Can I just introduce the new colour straight after I complete the edge 9 stitches?
@SnufflebeanYarn4 ай бұрын
Yes! Change colour on a same edge each time and you’ll get lovely neat colour changes.

@@SnufflebeanYarnsorry, one more question! I need to make the blanket bigger because my yarn is thinner. Do the number of stitches matter - do they have to be a certain number, like odd?
@SnufflebeanYarn4 ай бұрын
Nope, this one is brilliant because you can literally cast on any number of stitches you like

@@SnufflebeanYarn Hi, when you knit the first nine stitches you then add a divider, you also knit the rest of the row, then add a divider before the last nine. If I were to change colour after the border shall I change it now, after I add the divider? It's a knit stitch.Or shall I change colour when I start purling on the next row? Thanks for your help! I want to have the border a dark grey, then the knit row will be light grey and the purl rows will be a creamy colour all the way to the border in the end.

Hi, do you know to add a different colour on the knitting pattern without making it look messy with all the extra yarn ends?
@SnufflebeanYarn4 ай бұрын
You’re never going to be able to avoid the ends when changing colour

Can this be done with a varigated yarn (something like lion brand ferris wheel)
@SnufflebeanYarn5 ай бұрын
Yes of course it can 🤩

How do you know how long to leave your tail for casting on in the long tail method?
@SnufflebeanYarn7 ай бұрын
Nowadays I just guess and if I don’t get it right I either start again or chop off any excess. A rule of thumb tho is the tail needs to be 3 times as long as you want your cast on stitches to be 😀

Do you sell that yarn.?
@SnufflebeanYarn7 ай бұрын
I don’t sell that exact yarn - but I sell one I actually prefer (I bought that yarn before I discovered a new favourite). The yarn I sell is King Cole Cherished 😀

Can you knit this using straight needles? I’m very much a beginner and haven’t yet had the confidence to try circular needles yet. Thank you
