You can hear the Swedish melancholy in 99.9% of all our songs, even in ABBA. It has been in our DNA for generations. from having been Europe's poorest, coldest, darkest country only a little over 100 years ago, folk music has carried that legacy on. Then we take culture very seriously on many levels, from school to adulthood. Then add that music is still one of our biggest exports. And as a Swede, I can say that I am quite proud that there is still a majority of music that is recorded is good and serious and not just crap lyrics and mainstream bs.

I listened to this song a lot after an ex had broken up with me. Eventually I did forget him. This song is very melancholy and that is something that we Swedes do very well. If you want to hear more similar songs I can recomend Blue and Alone by Weeping Willows, or Trying to Recall by Marie Lindberg. Both are in English but have the same vibe, and hauntingly good melodies.

Just a beautiful voice and so much talent here. The song was simple in the best possible ways. The backup vocalist was talented as well, and the writing was really good as well.

I think Melissa's mother Maritza Horn has an even greater voice. I recommend you to check out "Det döende barnet" (The Dying Child), "Du får mig i blom" (With You I'm Born Again), "Drinkarflickans död" (The Death of the Drunkard's Daugther), or "Kärleksdans i Provence" (Love Dance in Provence). Thanks for a great channel!

I recommend listening to her song "Kungsholmens hamn". a song written about a czech boy who was murdered in the 90s in stockholm. Back then murder and hatred were rare in sweden. She sang it live to honour the memories of the victims of Utöya in Norway and her words are haunting.

My favourit of hers!

Actually, there were more murders back then than today (people believe otherwise, both because of the propaganda and because the brain register every account of a murder as one incident and doesn’t understand that it is the same event reported several times - well, the memory does not understand that - and today we read/see about something that has happened so, so many times in so many channels while back then we read/heard about it a couple of times. So go to the statistics if you want to know the facts! There are crimes where you have to interpret the statistics in terms of changing laws and willingness to report to the police, for example rape, but murder is not one of those…). Hate was also not rare, we had BSS and other nazi movements and all kind of rasism and hatred, it is just less ok today and therefore we see it more (although it is going back to being ”ok” with people, we are much more aware). We had murderers, like lasermannen, who explicitely targeted immigrants. And so on. I do not know how old you are, but either you were not around or you have a short memory and do not check statistics :-). But I do agree that the song is both beautiful and haunting!

The odds of this dropping the day after I listened to Hanna for the first time in ten years are pretty cool! She's amazing! I highly recommend her song called Vår sista dans, if you can find it with subtitles. It's so beautiful! Lars Winnerbäck and Miss Li's Om du lämnade mig nu is also highly recommended! Great reaction ❤

Lovely song and reaction! Her mother Maritza Horn is also a great singer, worth checking out. "Lejonbruden" is a old classic that she sang beautifully. You might like it. Also, you mentioned not just walking past eachother, how about the song "Gå inte förbi" (don't walk past, something like that anyway) with Sissel and Peter Jöback? Exactly that message in a song. Anorher one I really like, that sort of feels a bit similar to this, but up tempo is "Enastående" (remarkable) by Linnea Henriksson. ❤

@@TheWolffAndTheMelody I hope there is a version of Lejonbruden (the lion bride) with english subtitles. It is an old swedish beautiful and melancolic/romantic/tragic "skillingtryck" from more than 100 years ago. I think you might like it. It's like a dramatic poem. A sad story of a young girl about to marry, but who has a twist of fate let's say. Chills and tears. ❤️💔👰♂️

swedish sounds very pretty. good voice, song, lyrics. didn't know she is swedish. there are some really beautiful tracks out there about the downside of love, when it's gone and dead. one of these beautiful tracks is valdimar feat. sóley, "this time"

Beautiful vocals, and the music was so calming. I was reading the lyrics and trying to figure out the message, but you could be right that it might be about how people come and go in your life. It's an interesting concept to miss someone less and less. 🤔

Ya I think thats where the message was headed.

I have listened to some of her albums and I don’t think there is a single happy song in any of them. I wonder if she is depressed and unhappy? Still like her though 😊. And she is beautiful!
