Ohhhh I didn’t know Hell Followed with Us is getting a movie!! How exciting

I learned more than a decade ago, while encouraging my niece how great reading books is, that YA doesn't mean "less than". I loved that you're promoting these spooky season books. I've added You're Not Supposed To Die Tonight" because it sounds clever, and then Clown In A Cornfield, book 1. I think i might pass on the one that tries to upgrade their appeal by constantly mentioning Stephen King.

Omg I had no idea Stephen King writes horror. 🙄 LMAO Clown in a Cornfield is high on my radar. I'm currently reading We Kept Her in the Cellar by W.R. Gorman. Cinderella is a villain in that book.

The second clown in a cornfield book is worth the read. It has fascinating commentary about conspiracy theories, paralleling school shooting denial in america.

Wanted to compliment your voice development and training. You sound phenomenal! Thank you for taking us through this journey with you, and I really hear a huge difference, you are doing great! You are really finding your voice, and I know it is very hard, I was singing my whole life =) I am scared of Book Tok =) I try to never take any recommendation from there, because... Coleen Hoover also has more then 4 Stars for each of her "masterpieces", hahaha

Out of the recommended books, I've only read Clown in a Cornfield and really enjoyed it. Also, Adam Cesare's youtube channel is pretty neat. Can't wait to check out the other books you shared! Side note, but your glasses chain holder thingy..I love it so much, where is it from?? I need it, even though I never actually take my glasses off. 😅😭It's perfect!

I picked up the chain from a seller at a booth at ComicCon! I’m sure you can find them on Etsy :)

being a stephen king fan, I have been suspicious of a clown AND a cornfield for a book title but your mature and insightful review has just sold it: thanks again! 🤡

Thanks! I have been enjoying your channel for a long time now. I'm almost finished with "Clown in a Cornfield" and am enjoying it. Have you read "In the House in the Dark of the Woods" by Laird Hunt? It isn't relevant to this video (not YA) but it's the last book I finished, and I think it's one you might really enjoy. It's short, unsettling, taking place in colonial New England, about a woman who gets lost in the woods... I don't want to tell you too much, but if it were to be a movie, it has that A24 elevated feel, but like a dark fairytale or a disturbing piece of folklore.

Thanks so much, Bobby! And I will absolutely be checking that book out!

I wanted to dip my toes in the horror genre and really liked the the first half of “You’re not supposed to die tonight” but didn’t like the second one when the genre subversion hit, maybe because all I wanted was a fun summery slasher 😅 something about that switch up felt very abrupt. I have “clown in a cornfield” and “hell followed with us” on my bucket list, hope I’ll like them more 😊

If you just want a fun summer camp slasher, Heads Will Roll might be a better shout! It’s really smart and engaging, while still being a pure summer slasher

For more queer YA horror, I highly recommend I Feed Her to the Beast and the Beast is Me by Jamison Shea Shea is a Black enby author and this is their debut novel, the second in the duology is out next month and I am so excited because the first is so fresh and fascinating. Their use of elite ballet to explore white supremacy and control over the bodies of young women is honestly brilliant. It's not a perfect novel, but it's an exciting one and I think Shea is only going to get better.

I listened to Clown in a Cornfield on Audible and it was a great narrator a strong recommend! The book went in a totally different direction than I thought it would and had me back at the store to investigate more titles (I was in a snobby mood before hand and it knocked my tits off). I am interested in picking up You're Not Supposed to Die Tonight especially knowing it has queer content.

Hi! I am new here. Earlier today I’d read ”My Year of Rest and Relaxation” by Ottessa Moshfegh and was looking for a review; I found yours and immediately fell for you 🥰 as soon as I watched your video on ”The Haunting of Hill House”. As for this video - thank you very much for your recommendations; I have already added ”Compound Fracture” on my virtual bookshelf.

Hiya Willow! I was wondering whether you'd be willing to make a video on south asian horror fiction for Halloween? Especially botanical horror related?
@WillowTalksBooksАй бұрын
If I knew anything at all about botanical south Asian horror, I absolutely would!
@ReinReads22 күн бұрын
Botanical South Asian horror seems oddly specific, but it made me think of Beauty is a Wound by Eka Kurniawan translated by Annie Tucker. A difficult but powerful read.
