Levy: says he's bad at scrambling Also Levy: spent 31 seconds on his second move in a 3+0 game

To the people who said it would of been a draw yes you are correct. That's a huge difference from a lost

I say he deserved it by trying to dirty flag his opponent instead of playing good moves.

Its literally network latency. Time appears to be refunded because your countdown clock keeps running after they make a move but is then updated to the time the move was actually recorded when you receive it. Your clock similarly is bouncing back as seen by your opponent. Play another streamer and compare if you want to see both sides.

@akamigaku6127 draw by insufficient material
@akamigaku612712 күн бұрын
@already_takent No. If you run out Of time, even when winning, you lose
@seantimmons590012 күн бұрын
@already_takent draw by insufficient material only applies if BOTH players have insufficient material. This would have been a win.
@seantimmons590012 күн бұрын
@akamigaku6127 If BOTH players have insufficient material, it is a draw if time runs out. Ironically because the opponent had sufficient material, they would have lost but if they did not it would have been a draw. So you are correct it would have been a win but not for the correct reason

It's games like this that you don't even play for the game of chess as much as you play for the game of time

happened to me yesterday, brought a guy down to 0.1 down 2 queens and assumed I had secured a draw and I make my move and it increases his time by 0.5
@maxave744812 күн бұрын
That time was lost due to network latency and was refunded since the clock shown on the website keeps running while the move is being sent, processed, and sent back by the servers
@someonesomeone700012 күн бұрын
@maxave7448 yeah that sounds about right, it’s still annoying though
@maxave744812 күн бұрын
@@someonesomeone7000 yeah but it would be unfair for people with high latency if the clock just kept running

GOTHAM - FYI, the moves come with timestamps from the client, and the server takes them into consideration.
@teenspirit112 күн бұрын
It is a browser application where you are able to call javascript and send network requests simply by opening the developer console. So you can change the numbers and puppeteer the whole game with javascript. Given that, do you understand that if client timestamp (which can be fake) is taken into consideration by the server, client can be programmed to keep sending zero lag timestamps claiming their connection is lagging? It would be a huge bug to trust the client like that in an online game.
@Kamamura212 күн бұрын
@@teenspirit1 Which is of course an overcomplicated scenario that did not happen. What probably happened was a common case of lag.
