So Collector was nerfed... | Darkest Dungeon 2

With the Binding Blade DLC patch, Collector received a seemingly small but good nerf. Maybe the nerfs were too much though?

Duelist resoluting and making us feel like there was a chance we got out of here was genuinely the most tense moment I've seen in DD in a long time. A heartbreaking loss for sure, but moments like that are what this game is all about.

How? How did you outlast Collector? I mean... May be you can use PD, Flaggelant and MAA, and kill Dismas's head at every turn, but why bother, when you have PD and Flag?

To be fair, while the nerf was good, it doesn't really change the fact that every head is still immensely dangerous in their own right, and collector can easily undo all the damage to both himself and the heads by resummoning them and life stealing (the life steal crit is brutal) interestingly I find this Collector and his posse to be even more dangerous than the double collected dismas of DD1, because they can do so much (debuffs, high damage, stuns/dazes, heals) and act as an incredibly well balanced team that is also extremely cohesive I've sworn an oath to oppose Collector to the bitter end ever since he took Dismas and Reynauld from me, so I think I've got a ton of experience of fighting this guy now (farming trophies tends to do that since I now always try to lure him out)

Collector just makes you never want to experiment with different comps and paths. I love that he is a treat, but the fact that you cant see him coming is kinda punishing. ( Yeah Vestal is garbage )

I feel like any decent team will be alright to deal with him though. Shuff's team in this one was really not fit for it because it lacked healing and rank 4 reach, and yeah Vestal is just not that good

@@jankleiss2485 if he had boot with duelist he may have had a chance, like some comments in his twitch said. But no disruption ability equipped, and almost no good offensive ability with Duelist. plus the thing You mentioned really Made Shuff lose

I'd argue that even with a bad team the DD1 version was still doable, though it was an uphill battle. Haven't fought the 2 version yet but man has every fight I've seen been rough lmao...

You can't stun with not antagonista path duelist and even then you need upgraded coup du grace and then be on defensive mode.

Had a really good starting run on the first region killing the sleeping general first node and my team walked out high stress and low hp then i went into a road battle and wiped to collector (i was using a dot team)

You need to have a boss trophy equipped to your stagecoach I think

You need to have a boss trophy in any capacity - it can either be equipped on your stagecoach or simply sitting in your inventory. The more trophies you have, the higher the chance of his appearance. The Collector's Chandelier stagecoach item will also increase his spawn chance, but it by itself won't enable him to appear if you have no trophies.

@@Cats_on_fire Nope, he is pretty Fun to Fight, and he aways gives you 2 Mastery Points :D Just Remenber, The Collector has a little Counter for almost every Team, Vestal Head Ignoring Dodge, Dismas Head Bleeding you, and Soo on, even the Best Teams are gonna Struggle a little Against him.... But, If you know what your Doing, he becomes pretty easy, he Also aways gives you 2 Mastery Points, soo.....

I legit thought there was a chance when Duelist had a resolute. Yeah, I definetely fear the Collector when I run comps with no backline damage. Vestal is a joke. The Crusader in any path is the healer Vestal wished she were. It's sad how bad she actually is.

I'd already rage quit this 🤣 I love this game but also hate it with passion how punishing it is, doesn't matter what team you take it seems like it punishes you for slight mistakes. I played over 300 hrs in first and over 100 on this since day one of EA, release definitely got harder.

Having your whole run lost because of RNG during the collector fight is just bad game design but w/e Dude knows darkest dungeon, played a lot dd2, try every comp. Someone who actually spent his time theorycraft and doing the good choices shouldnt be completly annhilated because of rng
