Thanks for this, I'll most definitely be using this when I get my new tablet. Also could you please suggest any video tutorials for getting started in Blender for sculpting? I have difficulty with the controls and get stuck way too often.

She looks fantastic! I feel like you really captured the essence of her without losing the vibrancy and life in your style. Hearing you talk about imposter syndrome is really reassuring as well. Haven't finished the video yet (I snuck a peek at the end result haha!) but I really love this. Thank you!

It's a world of difference, Danny. You really captured her essence in your latest, whilst keeping a nicely stylised look. Bravo for perservering.

Just saw your old Amy Winehouse vid yesterday, and thought that it was already nice, but this one came up and AMAZE me! The model really looks more relaxing and even more beautiful!

Huge improvement in my opinion! That final bust would make a fun 3d print, I think.

I never liked Amy and don't watch your channel but I saw the thumbnail and had to come here to give it a thumbs up - impressive work, immediately recognisable as her!
@DannyEastes Жыл бұрын
Amazing! Winehouse had a very distinctive look to her nose and mouth, and usually with bold expressive eyebrows. You captured them all really well here!

Hi Danny. This is by far one of my favorite videos of yours. Not only just about the improving Amy Winehouse sculpts which really captured the likeness and appeal. . But most importantly, it's great seeing a fellow 3d artist grow, as we are always learning and always improving.... instead of getting stuck in imposter syndrome or whatever depression we artists can go thru. Your artistic journey has been really nice to follow and your style is really evolving and having much variety. Thank you.

Glad to see you posting again. I don't have comments because I'm not any kind of artist, but I like working in Blender as a hobby, and I'm always inspired by your comment, "I was determined to do this".

Also, I had been following your online course for a semester-long Practicum on creating a 3D character. Last thing I need to do is texture it (or, her) which I plan to do in Substance Painter. I am really proud of how she’s turned out for my first-ever character! So thank you so much for your course!

Honestly I think you did a great job with both models. Sometimes I think people see a western art style and they just can't see anything other than 'Disney or Pixar looking character' but I think if you had sculpted Amy in an anime art style you wouldn't have gotten that type of comment.

Thanks man, this is so inspiring. I just saw the other vbideo a while ago and while I think the other one is very cool and I like it a lot I prefer this one better, because of the amount I learned, not of 3d modelling but about overcoming impostor syndrome and criticism, as a content creator myself I completely understand you and I face the same struggles, thank you really for telling your story and helping us, it means a lot, at least to me

Holy hell that's how you do nice hair without taking 2 weeks on the details... I wish I had this in Zbrush... I'll try doing hair in Blender next time. Having several viewports and camera views would also be quite useful in Zbrush. I liked the one you did before, even if I agree with the critics. And I wonder how the 2017 version would look with a better lighting.

Yes, the sculpt months ago looked great but was not that much in a character, this one is better. I suggest you start second channel dedicated only to sculpting Amy Winehouse and do new sculpt every month, Im curious how long it would take to make ultimate Amy sculpt.

Damn looks wonderful, remember when it comes to videos there is so much random algorithmic shenanigans at play, i never see most videos pop up! Edit, oww i though you reuploaded it as a comparison video, recently, how... 6 years ago went over my head i dont know haha. Might be as iv not viewed many art videos as my PC broke pretty badly so iv not been able to sculpt for nearly 5 months, god im scared to see how little sculpting ability iv got left after all this time when i finally one day manage to get fully working PC back to square one for me 😂 Never understood how you get such smooth looking clean skin in your renders, all round lovely work man, keep it up

great work and great vid, its nice to see the process humanized a bit since timelapses rarely tell the story of doubt and decisions being made along the way
@Kelsisgodzilla Жыл бұрын
So you were saying about the mulires causing issues, and how you can't do edits with it in edit mode while having it on, I don't know a whole lot about it, and I'm relatively new to it, but as I understand it, you can mess around with it in edit mode you just have to use the 'apply base' option button in the multires modifier so that your modifier knows what you changed around. Then it prevents that when you go back into sculpt mode. @Dannymac

whoa she's much better. Hard work to redone from scratch a character, and hell yeah doing a caricature version of a known personality is hard and ungrateful, as even the slightliest deatail can ruin it ( thats why I always write 'inspired' by when I make a caricature, at least if it's shitty it's my excuse :)😁 Congrats

Lets be fair to that video tho. You took basically a year off from content creation which knocked u down in the almoghty algorithem then upon return ur most recent full video did not garner the same amount of views or close to the last one released which only made the algorithm more upset with u so whilst i viewed that video loved it and to thought it was the best uve made youtube seriously shafted u. I didnt even get notifications of ur uploads at the time of release i had just thought about searching ur channel to see if ud come back yet

I appreciate the thought, but metrics were down on all accounts. When I compare the new one to this one I realise... it just wasn't that good :/ But lessons learned, onwards and upwards!

Both pieces looked great, but this one is def nore Winehouse! I hope you learned from the comments in this video that some people just like being whiney (see what I did thete) and to take comments with a very large grain of salt... You do you mate, that's why I sub'd. Love your work 😉

I think you should push into a bit of caricature. Not too much but look at an artist like Loopydave. This would make your work stand out more and give you more of a challenge. I think your problem is that you have mastered your style so much that your advancements are very small at this point. Just my 2 cents.
