Thanks for sharing a great atmosphere of Chinese New Year. I love those small towns in China. There's so much freedom. We can play fireworks almost everywhere. Traditionally, we use to hang the long firecrackers from a bamboo pole from the rooftops all the way to the floor.

Guìzhōu used to be a rather poor province and had little employment opportunites. But that changed a few years back. I was on a plane flying from Guǎngzhōu to Guiyang, and sitting next to me was a middle aged lady. She told me she had worked in Guangdong province for quite sometime, but then there appeared more job opportunities back home, so she was flying home for good. That was progress, and I wished the lady good luck. When I went into Guiyang City, I was really impressed by the living standard there, and the way Guiyang people behaved. Yes, I was pleasantly surprised. 😅
