I was worried that winter in Korea would be very cold, but the Southern part was quite warm. So I rode my bike wearing short sleeves. My bike got a puncture, but after 12 years of traveling the world by bicycle, punctures are easily fixed. Changwon City was really great for cycling in the city. Of all the cities I've ever visited, this was the best city for biking.

So glad you spoke about the distance of the bike paths...they need to coincide with/go along the side of the roads. I've been on some that have cut off abruptly and then have the audacity to have a "no cycling" sign right after the cut off 🤔🤔🤔

제가 알기론 인도로 자전거 타는 것이 법으로 금지되어있고, 도로를 타야 합니다. 문제는 도로에 있는 운전자들이 운전하지 말아야 할 사람들이 많다는 거죠. 영상에 나오는 트럭처럼 말입니다. 어느 나라인가에 따라 그런 사람들이 많은가 적은가의 차이는 있지만, 도심지 도로라면 그런 종류의 사람이 존재합니다.

It’s funny. When we do wild camping, we don’t wash the rice and it’s ok. Then the moment we go to house with tap water, we automatically wash the rice. 😂😂😂 You patch tube so easy and fast. It takes me 30 mins. But I learn something from you today. Actually need to remove luggage. Not sure why I always remove everything 😅😅👍

제가 사는 곳(창원시 진해구)에서 숙소이용하셨네요. 오실 줄 알았다면 한번 만나서 여행이야기를 듣고 싶었은데 아쉽습니다. 진해구는 따뜻하게 조용히 텐트칠 곳이 많습니다. 진동 쪽에서 야영하신 것같은데 고생이 많으셨네요. 그 쪽은 여기보다 많이 추운 곳이랍니다. 안민터널 통과는 창원에[서 진해 쪽으로 오면 훨씬 쉬워요. 창원 족으로는 은근이 계속 오르막인데다가 바람이 거의 맞바람이라 매연과 역풍에 힘이 드는데 엄청 만족하셨다니 다행입니다. 그리고 마산에서 진동쪽으로 갈 때 주도로보다 바닷가 해변길로 갔으면 너무나 좋았을 것을 같아요. 아름다운 풍광에 차도 별로 안다니는 잘 포장된 도로가 있거든요. 교통사고 안나길 천만다행입니다. 언제까지 자전거여행을 이어나가실지 모르지만 존경을 넘어 경이롭기 까지 합니다. 항상 건강하시고 행복하세요!!!

You need to try patches with adhesive glue already applied, they are much easier to use, and faster to apply.

창원이 전국 최초 공용자전거를 도입한 도시죠 저도 창원살때 자전거로 출퇴근 했었는데 도시 끝에서 끝까지 자도가 놓였있어 정말 좋았던 기억이네요 근데 자전거로 세계여행하는거 자체가 남들보다 겁이 없는거 같은데요 단지 안전 의식이 투철한것일듯

펑크는 그냥 패치로 수습이 되는데 라이딩을 하다가 바퀴의 스포크가 부러지면 어떻게 대처를 하시는지 궁금하네요? 한국에서도 스포크 터지면 대처가 안되서 그날 라이딩은 포기하는데 세계여행 하시면서 주위에 아무것도 없는 허허벌판에 자전거 샾도 없는 곳에서 스포크가 부러지면 정말 난감하겠단 생각이 들더라구요.

외국 유튜브 보면 스페어 스포크를 3~4개 정도 들고 다니던데요. 더 중요한 건 스스로 스포크 장력 조절을 할 수 있어야겠죠. 휠 밸런스를 점검하고 스포크의 적당한 장력을 유지하는 것이죠.

맞습니다. 보통 여분으로 앞, 뒤 드라이브/논드라이브 각 하나씩 총 3개 정도 필요합니다. 드라이브 사이드인 경우 카세트 제거 공구가 추가로 필요합니다. 여행자 용 초미니 사이즈 공구가 있긴 하지만 자신의 휠과 맞는지 미리 체크 해야 됩니다. 휠 정렬이 나가자마자 조정 하면 어렵지 않게 장력을 잘 맞출 수 있습니다. 시간이 지나면 림 자체가 틀어지기 때문에 맞추기 어렵죠. 미리 연습해서 익숙해 놓지 않으면 불가능 하죠.

스포크가 여행하는 동안 처음 3~4년간은 계속 부러졌던 거 같아요. 림이 저렴하면 더 잘 부러지는 거 같아요. 그리고 대부분 뒷바퀴에서 스포크가 더 잘 부러지는데 이유는 뒷바퀴에 무게가 더 실리다 보니 그렇습니다. 예전에는 스포크가 부러지면 바로 히치하이킹 했었는데, 나중에 보니까 스포크가 부러져도 몇 백키로미터 이상 더 탈 수 있더라고요. 부러지는 것만이 문제가 아니라 림이 휘게 되면 브레이크 패드를 칩니다. 이러면 자전거가 제대로 안 나가 타기가 힘든데 스포크가 부러지는 일보다 브레이크가 림을 치는 게 더 자주 일어나더라고요. 저는 여행 1년차가 안 되었을 때 스포크를 직접 껴서 림 만드는 걸 에콰도르에서 배웠고, 이후에도 2~3번 혼자서 림 만드는 걸 해봤는데 항상 실패했네요. 림 만드는 건 정말 복잡합니다. 그래서 결국엔 전문가에게 조언을 얻거나 도움을 얻어서 만들었네요. 하지만 스포크 조정은 혼자서는 합니다. 어차피 이게 자전거 대회를 나가는 게 아니라 정교하게 할 필요는 없고 굴러만 가게 하면 되는거니까요. 뒷바퀴 스포크를 교체할 때는 카세트셋트 리무버 렌치가 필요한데 이게 무겁고 좀 큽니다만은 여분용 스포크와 함께 항상 들고 다녔어요. 스포크 조정은 알고보면 원리가 간단합니다. 스포크 조정에서 중요한 건 아주 살짝만 돌리며 상태를 보는겁니다. 이후 얼마나 더 돌릴지 보는거죠. 스포크 렌치로 시계방향으로 돌리면 단단히 조이게 되어 더 당겨지게 됩니다. 반시계 방향으로 하면 덜 조이게 합니다. 예를 들어 오른쪽 브레이크를 림의 한 부분이 부딪치고 있다면 그 부딪치는 스포크를 반시계 방향으로 해서 덜 조이게 하는거죠. 물론 그 스포크만 조정하는 게 아니라 앞뒤 스포크도 만져 줍니다. 스포크 조정에서 제일 중요한 건 인내심이지요.ㅎ 휠 돌려가며 얼마나 조정되었나 확인하고, 시계 방향 반시계 방향으로 주변 스포크를 조정해야 하는데 한 시간은 금방 갑니다. 뙤약볕에서 하다보면 정말 힘들어요.ㅎ 자전거 뒷바퀴 림은 림브레이크 쓰다보면 갈리게 되고 그러다 보면 약해져서 바퀴 림을 일정 주기로 계속 바꿔줬던 거 같네요. 어떻게 보면 뒷바퀴 림 교체수와 카세트 셋트 교체수가 비슷한 거 같기도 하네요. 2~3년 이상의 장기 여행이라면 스포크 조정을 자전거 가게에서 직접 배우는 게 좋을 거 같아요. 저처럼 좀 물가가 저렴한 나라에서 배우는 것도 하나의 방법이죠.

Be careful of condensation from your own heat in winter, inside the tent. Both the humidity you have perceived in your sleeping bag and around the tent are your own breathing, which, if not managed, can end in pneumonia. I suggest - again - wearing clothing made of merino wool. To dry your tent there are several applications that allow you to locate the sunrise when camping and thus take advantage of that heat (at least sunlight) of the morning to dry it from dawn until you leave.
