Jin, thank you for sharing all of this! I travel the world (only on vacation) and feel the same thing you talked about: lack of respect for women. I'm old, so I suffer a bit less now, but still get the disrespect. It is hard and saddening. Recently I was traveling by bicycle in Croatia and many men offended me. It's sad. Even cars and trucks riding too close, just to scare me. ---------- I imagine that it can be very difficult to imagine the "after" traveling, after so many years on the road. Like what to do? How are people going to react to me when I'm back? How can I go back without going through North Korea when I've wanted it from the beginning? But Jin, you can. You can go back without NKorea. You'll make friends home like you've made friends in so many places. Please, don't let psychological barriers, like the dream of going through N Korea depress you. Depression is a very bad and dangerous thing, difficult to get out once you're in. If you feel like you want to go back home, just go. When things are easier in N Korea, you can cycle there. Your message of peace is crystal clear. Even without this part of the trip. You don't own anything to anyone. You're fantastic, have achieved fantastic things and will do much more. On the bike and off the bike. Getting back to "normal" life (I mean, without traveling all the time) will perhaps be hard at the beginning, but you'll get through it. You have so many skills and experience! You can work in the travel industry, give talks at schools, etc, you can fix bikes, you can be a bicycle courier, you can work with computers (retrain if necessary). And so many things. Anything you set your mind to. And you don't need to decide in one minute. You can take your time with temporary jobs, until you figure what makes you happy. Just do whatever makes you feel good. You could even go back just for a few months to ease back into that life. You're a very precious and beloved human being. Cycling is just something you do. You're much more than anything you do. Please, take care of yourself and do what your heart wants to do. I'm sending you a big cyber hug, all my respectful fraternal love and admiration. You rock!🌻🌻🌻🏆

Dear Jin, First I love your sense of humor! Wish I could have done part of the trip with you. Second, I am really sorry you experienced racism. Lastly, if you are looking for work after you decide where to settle, I think it is a great idea to open a bike shop that has camping gear and electronics as well! Whatever you do, I wish you well. You have entertained me, informed me and motivated me very much.

Thank you very much for this video, Jin!! I've been following you for a few years already, through your webpage mostly, and I was really happy to listen to your answers to all of these questions. I had some of these questions myself and discovered some new ones too, so thank you very much. You made me smile a lot throughout the video with your courage and the way you look at life. I particularly found funny that for you one of the worst things about traveling alone is that nobody laughs at your jokes... well not in person maybe, but online some of us loved your sense of humor in your webpage's articles. I know it's not he same but... A big hug from Spain and much luck with getting your dream of spreading peace between the Koreas done!

Thanks for sharing your really exceptional cycling trip! I think there is hardly any comparable experience on KZbin, spanning so many years and locations. Your openness and honesty will certainly help others with their adventures. Still, very sorry to hear that harassment and racial issues still occur along the way. That should be a thing of the past by now, but unfortunately some regions apparently are stuck in old mindsets.

Hello In I had already seen the short version of this video and I liked it so much that I watched the long version. I also liked it, touching me because it is so comprehensive and honest. What touched me the most was your sadness that you had when you said that your skin color and your gender make it difficult for you to cycle because of dehydration, where you really like yourself for who you are. So that as a woman it is made difficult for you to travel by bike. Yes, that touched me, also because I'm a man and I feel sorry for you. Your openness touches me a lot, thank you ... and your humor too, smile Best regards Bernhard

I'm a year late to this video and only found your channel recently. I'm also South Korean and want to travel more by bike but have yet to visit any country in Asia since I grew up in the US. You've given such an eye-opening perspective on bike touring, self-discovery, and experiencing more around the world. You have a humble outlook on life and I appreciate the point you made about not really feeling much at times. Life can feel like you're cycling around without a purpose, and it can take a while to overcome that anxiety on your own. Thank you for sharing your journey.

Jin... I really wish I had been following you since you started your amazing journey. The selfish part of me wishes you were still cycling but I guess you are all cycled out! Your story is so inspirational and that's why I wish I was following it in real time. Anyway.. Good luck with your future and keep posting so everyone knows what you are doing... : )

You are such an inspiration to so many people. What an amazing story, to have done this incredible journey for a decade, a young woman traveling the word alone. Thank you for your honesty about your fears and negative experiences, as well as the positive stories. I am sorry that you were unable to travel to North Korea to finish your trip.
