They nerfed Golden Arcs into the ground, used to have nice range but now it's just a weak spell that uses way too much mana for what it does, no point in it at all, just keep using Discus of Light for your daily driver.

@@ValkynShade I get that but the whole point of them fixing it was to prevent the players from doing a ton of damage, right? So it's very odd that they do nothing about the buff stacking that literally lets the players do far more damage than the bug did.

@@beyondhuman3148the point was to prevent players from abusing something that wasn't intended to be abused, buff stacking is just a game mechanic, rolling sparks dealing 50k damage is not

Because those are actually intended game mechanics. If you're smart enough to know which ones to stack and what to do then fair enough. But melting a boss because of a bug which is unintended has to be patched out. Two completely different things.

The only cheese here was the perfume bottle, the other two were actually viable for dlc and only op in base game. Which is the case for most weapons from dlc, so why not just make everything do dog water damage? The bloodfiends arm heavy takes 2 second to swing which you would have proc’d bleed if using the backhand blades, so making it proc your bleed in an aoe makes up for the massive charge and swing time. The thrusting shield I never used but I assume people saying things like this were getting their asses handed to them in pvp and went to go complain to mommy (fromsoft) like a little child and are now bragging about the fun being taken out of the game.

They nerfed rolling sparks right before I summoned a guy for Radabeast who then went full hypermode and obliterated those two in seconds. It was the first time I witnessed the true power of rolling sparks though.

Better something be absurdly broken and fun rather than annoyingly weak and "balanced". Game devs these days have forgotten this important lesson in game design.

@@cyrusmuller6502 Haven't even played the DLC because I refuse to pay $40 for it. I have responsibilitiea as an adult to pay bills and keep food on the table, and $40 for a DLC is too much. I don't accept that kind of pricing from EA or Activision; I'm not going to accept it from FS. You are entitled to a different opinion, but I don't believe it is worth $40 after everything I saw. You can get The Witcher 3 Complete Edition (comes with all DLC and both Expansions) for that price, and that is very much worth it. I bought DS1 Remastered for $20 instead via a key site, and I'm enjoying that.

You can still get rolling sparks to do a bunch of damage if you look straight down while point blank. Just don't target lock.

@@belaschmidt1770 honestly I kind of stand with a negative opinion on this update as well. There are a lot of cool ashes, spells/incants, summons, and other weapons that just aren't good in any way, at least not with how tanky and beefed up the bosses and enemies are in late game/DLC; and it would be awesome if they made it so that there are more viable options rather than just nerfing anything players use to beat the game. At least that's my take, I'm aware that a LOT of people would most likely consider this automatically objectively incorrect as it might be seen as a form of making the game "easier."

As is typical; Fromsoft have fixed all the new weapons bugs by basically nerfing them into oblivion, and thus making them useless. Welp; back to being a Greatsword Lions Claw user.
