Catherine Deneuve would have been a bigger star, if she had been American. She could have taken the place of Grace Kelly in Hitchcock films etc. and would have won Oscars. French films are uninteresting, often about sex or illicit affairs, but Catherine is a better actress and French woman than Brigitte Bardot. At least she can speak English. Bardot can't.
