Bru, the depth of analysis, educated yet humerous comentary and incredible ability to convey the jist of whats going on strategically in a game has in my opinion been instrumental in promoting the game to newcomers on a deeper level - as well as providing long time supporters who like to think about the game beyond just the big hits and fancy footwork down the touch line an interesting and entertaining watch. Thank you, your work is much appreciated. You guys clearly not only enjoy the game immensely but understand and appreciate the more subtle strategies at play in almost every game. In my opinion world rugby missed out on an opportunity to utilize your passion for the game in assisting to bring new fans to the sport. Thank you also for having the perseverence to remake the videos of the RWC knockouts and final after the setbacks you experienced.

I see the rivalry between the All Blacks and Springboks continues. The Baby Boks drew with the Baby Blacks in the TRC U20 the other day. Blooding the next generation of players. This new tournament should help restore Southern Hemisphere dominance in that age group once again.

To answer your question. The all blacks assistant coach Joe Schmidt was the Ireland head coach at the 2019 world cup. So a-lot of his DNA was just built on by Irelands current head coach. So I believe Joe Schmidt tried to implement some of his work from his Ireland days at the All blacks
@vaxxmanzi7023
@vaxxmanzi7023 Ай бұрын
To attempt answering your question (around 6 minutes in ur video), The All Blacks are the blueprint of the continuity on attack. Your offloads, Loop around, etc... That's what's made NZ rugby the best for years. I'd like to think with how European rugby has developed and just gotten so much better, they structured this "new look" style, developed it to what is now which is brilliant. But the blueprint will forever be the Mighty All Blacks.
@cobusbrits2

AB's have done it ages ago as part of their attacking strategies. Ireland adapted it but making it their sole attacking style which is becoming cookie cutter attacks and one dimensional which cost them in the QF...

As a South African. I agree fully yhat this type of attack is a New Zealand type of play. As much as I hate it because South Africa is not as good at it.

@@awcloete3137 Agreed... Although I like their game though. Kinda miss playing in the Super Rugby coz of how we benefit from their game and them from ours... But to be fair considering how rugby is setup nowadays, our move to European rugby was worth it

Rugby is old sport had a coach in South Africa in 70 ties that was mad in the head with wrap around ball.These athletes playing rugby have improved massively.South Africa is country that developed so called 10 man rugby last 50 years.The N.Z. teams are running with ball in hand,have however started kicking a lot last 20 years.The French used to run from everywhere,but have started to go with forewards more,English like this aswell driving ball maul ect.For me the Ausies in early 90 ties were very inventive brilliant backline players.Same with Irish.To say a certian team started this style or that style little dangerous.That is why rugby is fascinating peoples build lend them to not only certain position on field,but certain style of playing.

Owing to the recent context of the ABs struggling to find their identity and undergoing some reform id say that they took a look at the recent success of some other teams like Ireland and adopted what they believed would suit them. Ireland have a great short pass system that is very simple and surprisingly tough to read when defending. Any smart team would look at their competition and adapt if needed
@chadleywilliams4724

There could be an irsih inspiration, as the ab's attack coach, joe Schmidt was thr Irish head coach before Farrel
@WinterWeaver
@WinterWeaver Ай бұрын
NZ's attack have always been this adaptable. I personally find Ireland's attack very predictable. They just execute so clinically that you cannot make mistakes in defence. But the AB's, and England in the Six Nations shows just how predictable Ireland's attack is. So... No, AB's are definitely not inspired by Ireland. I think that perception just came from the fact that the AB's had some struggles and what seemed like an identity crisis since the 2019 World Cup. This just made teams like Ireland "look" like they have the best attack, during a time when the AB's were just trying to ground themselves again.
@thenomad47
@thenomad47 Ай бұрын
I agree with this. The Irish attack feels unpredictable for the first 20 minutes or so, but for the whole rest of the match, you can basically see exactly what they're going to do when they start up their attack. The AB's however? Yeah no good luck lmao. I have very little idea what's going to happen beyond the next 2 or so phases at best. And this is from a Bok Supporter
@WinterWeaver
@WinterWeaver Ай бұрын
@@thenomad47 That's exactly what I told my brother in law (he's new to rugby) when watching the NZ/IRE quarter final... after about 20 minutes I could point to every player the ball would move to, or at least the two options.... and the AB's predicted the movement as well.

A lot of AB fans make comments like this of probably 1 of the greatest analysts of sport of our age. The toxicity that seems to seep out from all the NZ rugby pundits still crying on a daily basis since the final seems to be properly effecting their fanbase. Sad, embarrassing times for the respectable NZ rugby heads.
