I went to an all boys school and I can say that the time I spent there was easily the best and most valuable moments of my life.Teachs you to be part of a group and strive for one goal whilst giving you lesson like respect, dignity, inclusvitity, honour and brotherly love. Rugby in the SA system is almost a culture and schools like mine would prepare for that whole week for one game.

The School Boy Rugby scene is why South Africa has a huge pool of rugby talent. The hard part is choosing who goes to the Provisional and National squads. This video also shows the importance of uniforms and unity. We wear our colours with pride and it unifies kids from poor and rich homes.

Now ya gotta see some New Zealand schoolboy rugby. New Zealand and South Africa often argue about whose schoolboy rugby is the best which is hard to say but what is clear is that New Zealand and South Africa schoolboy rugby have and still are a step ahead of the rest. There is a reason why historically and currently New Zealand and South Africa have been dominant at the international level.

@@QSNgg well believe it or not I was a choir boy. And we played against the Christian Bros schools. Now they were primarily big lads from the Lebanese community. The Christian bros were rather abusive monks who believed that God's work involved grinding their opposition into the grounds and as many of their pupils were unaware of their date of birth (refugees who if they were 20 might say they were 14 because that way they would get asylum claims easier (and yes, they deserved asylum) their was quite a difference in development. Must say from experience the amount of kahoonahs it takes to go for a tackle when someone twice your size is thundering towards you ...

You should check out craven week its coming soon, basically its the highest level of school boy rugby and its where scouts teams and coaches look for future prospects, basically the best school boys get chosen from different schools in their region to represent their provinces and play other regions/provinces, the competition is so tight that some of the players who are not chosen for professional contracts by stormers sharks lions bulls etc end up going overseas to play as the deals they get are lucrative hence SA has many players playing for other countries as competition is so high

You'll understand why SA has such immense talent compared to other nations. Also the opening shot...my old school, St Stithians College, has one the oldest and biggest rugby festivals over the Easter break in SA. Not renowned for rugby although we have had a couple of Springboks, more known for cricket and rowing. Phenomenal school with amazing facilities.

Great video. Yes, my son is 16 and plays Rugby. Also n big boy, bigger than me. Rugby is more than just a passion here in South Africa, its nealy like a religion. Myself, i was 8 years old when i started playing rugby, all theough my school years and a few years after school. Had to stop as my work became an issue and playing rugby. Again, great video

I think it just varies on location and geography. More mountainous areas really pop off the screen for me because that's the scenery I grew up playing in
