As Harley riders have long said, If you have to ask you would not understand the answer. Riding Harleys since 1976, shooting Leica since 1996... I was late to the party on the latter.

The M4 is a fantastic camera. I would take it over an M6 any day. But if you think the film advance lever feels/sounds great on that, you should try an original M3, or even better, a dual stroke M3---nothing compares with it. A little weird getting used to at first but after a roll you don't even notice you're double cocking it. I had a dual stroke M3 but the rangefinder patch was fading so I returned it and now use a 1959 single stroke M3.

Man I have serious gear envy!! What a beautiful camera, even with the Canon glass!

Thank you so much, I adore this camera, even if it’s not sporting Leica glass quite yet

@@alexanderscarrow The Canon 35mmf2 LTM is a great performer, especially stopped down a bit. Watch for haze buildup inside though. You can get Leitz Summar or Summitar for cheap. Not in the same technical performance class as the other Leica lenses, but definitely give you the Leica look. Another to look for is the 35mm Summaron which is a _killer_ lens that can sometimes be found reasonably.

Have you bought a proper lens for your luxurious camera?

Canon glass is solid, use whatever works for you. I started with zeiss glass before finally getting my first Leicas Lens this year.

And by the way, Canon Rangefinders like the Canon VT Deluxe are even better cameras than your Leica at a FRACTION of the price. Shoulda done your research.

@@linjicakonikon7666 Owned mine since 1984. Never had to send it in for service to have the viewfinder recalibrated. Just put a new battery in it a few months back that powers the light meter. Good deal.

First A X100V, and now Leica camera you must be rolling in some money...JK lol. I hope you enjoy it. I used the Leica Q for a full day a couple of years back and it was pretty amazing.

Haha bro I wish, I’ve been working a bunch here at the beginning of the year, and I’m using it at a wedding later on in March. So a little bit of tax write off😂 I’ve heard the Q is amazing camera, wish used Leica wasn’t sky high so more people like you and I could enjoy them.

Congrats. Since you mentioned Canon glass, do you know if Leica glass can be mounted on a Canon Ae-1?
@alexanderscarrow2 жыл бұрын
Sadly due to the flange-focal-distance, which is the distance between the lens mount and the frame, you can’t mount Leica M on any DSLR body, as they would not be able to focus except for super up close macro photography, due to the M mount requiring only 27ish mm where as canon and most dslrs require 40ish mm of clearance

This is definitely a great purchase, not just for the investment, but for the absolute love of photography via rangefinder and Leica. Prices have gone up about $1k on the M6 over the past 12 months, so yeah, definitely a good investment. Anyway, I feel that buying Leica glass is also a great investment, but I can't afford it. So in stepped Canon screw mount lenses. They're cheap, have great bokeh, and with an adapter, will work just fine on the M mount. Check out the description on here for a few links. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJu5m2SBnZKsiJY I look forward to seeing what you create with this rig!
@alexanderscarrow2 жыл бұрын
Thank You Jason! I will definitely check that out, I have 35mm and 50mm in Canon LTM and Leica TM Glass so I still need an adapter for the 50mm still.I can’t afford Leica glass either😂. I went and shot two rolls yesterday while out and about and this camera is addictive, I’ll be sure to keep you updated on what works comes out of this thing!
