The Sora amiibo was a Mii Fighter because he's not getting an amiibo most likely. Every other character has been compatible since the final update. Also anyone with an Android or I think a jailbroken iPhone can write amiibo data to blank Ntag 215 NFC cards for far cheaper than those eBay sellers.

For anyone wondering if this is being done without mods, the answer is yes. Since Sora’s player release, the Min Min, Steve, and Sephiroth Amiibo have been able to work in Smash Ultimate. The December 2021 Balance Patch allowed the Pyra, Mythra, and Kazuya Amiibo to work in Smash Ultimate. Sora does not work and Smash Ultimate will have to have one more update in order to make his amiibo work. The Top Amiibo trainers have had their hands on these amiibo for almost a year and have been optimizing them since. We do this to see what the future of Amiibo could look like. Unfortunately, someone decided to give the Files out like candy and one of the people who received these Amiibo Files decided to sell them as NFC Coins on eBay.
