So it's basically a fusion of Sawblaze (the weapon mount which is also articulated), drum spinners (it's a drum spinner instead of a regular saw) and Tantrum (being compact and small). Anyway good luck!

For a complicated design like that you are going to need to really focus on durability. It needs to be able to take hits while it gets it's weapon up to speed. Then again, I don't build combat robots, I just watch the tv show. In that case I can't wait to see it in the box!

That looks like a crazy bot!! The one big challenge I see will be keeping that arm in motion. I'm assuming it'll either be belt or chain driven. What kind of bearings will it use? I'd be worried about it taking a hit to a bearing and getting stuck up in the air. Definitely an innovative design, as I've seen nothing like it on BattleBots! I'm excited to see how it goes!!

You should look for mentoring opportunities!! Once you’re out for two seasons you can mentor other teams. I absolutely loved FRC and for the 2022 season I’m able to start mentoring (but I definitely won’t be going back to my old team for that)

Looks pretty good, but the corner seams of the base are way too exposed unless those fillets are for welds that aren't detailed in the CAD model. How are you going to control the arm? DIY a giant RC servo? maybe with some of the Poluo robotics DC motor controllers? Finally, steering rate gyro. Use one, you'll become a drift master overnight.

How will you guys control a drum spinning at several thousands RPM whith an arm above the robot? Minotaur have issues when turning because of this. They need to slow down the drum's RPM in order to menouver easely. And most robots have their weapons weighting more thans the rest of the robot, so how the drum can be lifted if the weapon is havier than the rest?

This is so cool I watch battle bots with my sons. Can't wait to see the back side of it. I will say the part of it this year I didn't like was teams that were like I'm broken I'm broken then come back to life then repeat that again and again. I understand letting a team to reset but it has become a way of cheating. Me and my sons were getting frustrated this year and were losing interest by the end of the season. SO IMOP don't stop till they give up and push for a forfeit button be for you stop

I'm curious what the speed of the drum is? Copperhead spins so fast that it will gyro into the air, if this has a moveable arm I don't know how you will control the entire platform if it spins fast, it'll be the proverbial tail wagging the dog! Have you figured out a way to have the same kinetic energy as Copperhead without the instability problems?

Oh man, I'm so excited for this! Where is your team located? There in New Mexico or somewhere else? I've been dreaming of doing a Battlebot ever since I started watching the reboot and seeing you start this now, man! Just need the thousands of dollars and skills I don't have! :-) Anyway, Switchback looks quite interesting. Spinners are kinda everywhere, but with the movement, that might be enough difference for the producers to let you guys in. I would also say it seems a little like Whiplash, just with a MUCH more powerful spinner. Good luck to all of you and I'm looking forward to seeing the videos about it!
