I honestly think you are spot on with Sanemi, that he wants his brother to stay out of harms way. However, I think Sanemi is willing to literally cripple his brother if it means he will stop eating demons and pursuing becoming a Demon Slayer, even if his brother hates him for the rest of his life.

Sanemi acting like that because he wants Genya out of the DS corps, he doesn't want his brother in danger too. It's an understandable course of action given their circumstances from their backstory. Sanemi wants to eradicate the demons who killed their family and he doesn't want his brother to follow him. He would rather make Genya blind then removed from the corps than endangering himself by being a Demon Slayer.

Agreed. It's so tragic how they both love each other more than anything or anyone, but both of them are so stubborn. Sanemi wants Genya to quit being a demon slayer so he could live a happy and normal life away from demons and so he won't get himself killed in the upcoming war and Genya still feels guilty for having blamed Sanemi for killing their mother and desperately wants to apologise to him and repair their relationship.

Iguro’s beef with Tanjiro for getting to eat pancakes at his (not) girlfriend’s house is too funny. Mitsuri deserves the world! Sanemi and Genya’s relationship is pretty tragic, he doesn’t want his brother in this but is so messed up in his head he probably can’t just say it. At least that’s how it looks to me, hate this particular trope but it is what it is.

Your opinion to Sanemi is right. But at the point when Genya said he ate demons, Sanemi just couldn’t resist his furious and hatred to demons that he just heard his brother even ate them, so he pissed off and tried to paralyze his brother from continuing battle by eating demons. His love is real but heavy.

As a manga reader, it never really is properly explained how sanemi actually feels abt genya (except one scene..). But I have the light novels, and you are right, Sanemi actually deeply cares about Genya and was hoping to discourage Genya to the point he quits. It says in the novel that he wishes that Genya would quit the corps and get married, start a family etc. and just live a normal life. He certainly didn’t go about it in the best way tho 😭🙏 (Sanemi is my favourite character, I know way too much about him off the top of my head)

about the color of the clothes, they're all black, a thing comonly used on digital art is to pick the predominant color of the surroundings to add the light effects. They probably picked their hair colors so it would fit better with their characters.

No I agree, I'm sure it's all black. I've subconsciously noticed the hues of their outfits before, but seeing Zenitsu next to Tanjiro and their hair colors it was just so apparent that my brain consciously noticed it

sanemi is acting that way because he's genuinely delusional and has lost most of the people in his life from demons, why would he react normally or calmly to that ?? his only surviving brother who he has been telling to leave the corps does the exact opposite and places himself directly in harms way by EATING DEMONS you can't just treat him like a normal case because he can't be compared to a real person or real relationship as we don't have threats like demons irl not trying to justify his actions but you just can't use that logic in demon slayer at all, he's doing it to protect him

You're not delusional at all, you were spot on. Sanemi wants Genya to forget about him and live a life far away from the demon slayer corps, which is why he's so aggressively pushing him away (wrong way to go about it 100% but his intentions *are* pure). Now, a little reminder that their mom turned into a demon and he had to kill her. His hatred for demons is something else entirely because of that trauma. So far he thought that it was simply Genya's life that was at risk, in the sense that he could get killed by a demon. That scares him enough. The fact that Genya said he's EATING demons and therefore bascially becomes one, would've scared Sanemi *shitless* in this moment because even less than Genya just dying, he doesn't want history to repeat itself and see the only family he has left, turn into a demon and lose his mind like their mom. He's desperate to find a way to stop Genya from going further down this road and making him unable to be a demon slayer was obviously the only way he saw out of it while still keeping him alive if he doesn't quit on his own and there is no scenario in which he enjoyed doing this (and again, wrong way to go about it entirely, but considering his twisted way of protecting his sibling, this whole mess makes sense). Personally, I think that the reason for Sanemi's approach to this stems in the way Genya and him parted ways. The last time he heard from Genya, he thought Genya hates him and I think Sanemi decided to just run with it and keep feeding into it, to make Genya stay away. Of course though, Genya doesn't deserve to be treated this way, regardless. They should've had an actual, honest conversation about everything instead and it hurts my soul that they didn't.

My guess is that he was getting more desperate now that the war is approaching fast and Genya was still in the demon slayer corps and about to take a part in it and potentially getting himself killed + being blinded by rage when Genya told him about him eating demons. I heavily doubt that he hates Genya when their backstory showed how close they were and how Sanemi risked his life to save and protect Genya to the point of killing their mother.

The shinazugawa siblings situation is a great contrast to the kamado's. Sanemi is definitely doing this in a misguided effort to protect his brother but his trauma has made it difficult for him to realize its still wrong. In contrast Tanjiro never tries to stop Nezuko from fighting by his side even if it comes with similirly huge risk like we saw last season. Its why they can heal while the brothers still struggle

I think the difference between Tanjiro and Sanemi, despite having very similar backrounds, is that Sanemi had to kill his demon mother after she killed his little siblings and tried to kill her remaining two children while Tanjiro's family wasn't killed by Nezuko and with her being a very rare and unique demon, she retained her memories of Tanjiro and has no desire to kill humans. That, and it's probably easier for Tanjiro to let Nezuko fight, knowing that demons can't kill her and she can regenerate any damage done to her and regrow limbs, while Genya is still a human who can't use any breathing techniques and the only way for him to take on temporary demonic traits is to eat them, so Sanemi is a lot more against having Genya putting himself in danger and potentially getting himself killed. That and the Kamado siblings never got separated or had a drastic misunderstanding while the Shinazugawa siblings did.

@@Kalakeiko the fact that the Kamado were a healthy and happy family is a big deal too. Like the mangaka repeatedly emphasizes how Tanjiro and Nezuko having had two loving parents and a relatively stable home life/childhood really does help them nurture healthier coping mechanisms compared to the shinazugawa (and even the demon siblings for that matter) who had an abusive father. Even with a loving mother, having even one violent parent can drastically affect how you react to trauma. I point out the comparison mostly to say that there IS a better way and it’s possible but I don’t blame the brothers for not getting it. I can’t agree that it’s easier for Tanjiro to accept Nezuko fighting because she’s a demon because we’ve seen how it can rile up her demon side. The point is that Sanemi never gives Genya a chance. The Kamado siblings falter too but they help each other overcome it (like Tanjiro singing the lullaby) but sanemi just outright refuses compromise and that’s a big part of the problem

Sanemi did absolutely right . Him forcing genya to leave corps was the only solution which was necessary because as sanemi loves his brother so much,he can't stood still and see his brother risking in life . Genya is not a skilled slayer and genya eating demon slayer is a 50/50 thing . What if Muzan gain control of those cells and total control genya and genya really become demon.

Mitsuri training is flexibility and reflexing. Obenai training is precision strikes n blade control in close environments. Sanami was suppose to teach him blade work n multiple striking for big enemies and multiple enemies. Also Obenai pet snake is something that was with him since birth since his backstory (which they will get into during the infinity castle arc) but the gist of it is that he was born in a clan with mostly women. And they all get favor for offering their male youth to this snake demon. Obneai didnt want that so he ran away. By doing so the snake demon killed most of everyone in his clan n when a demon slayer came to kill the demon the ppl cursed Obenai for abandoning his duty leading to the clans leaders n most of them dead. He was taken in n trained under Geomei the stone Hashira.

Pretty sure that Tanjiro went through Tengen's, Muichiro's, Mitsuri's, Obanai's, and Sanemi's Training in like 12-14 days time. The shortest being Mitsuri's hence why the show and manga skipped over it so fast. Tanjiro is by far the poster child of non Hashira Slayers lol.

Ok few things i wanna say to you: 1. I am so sad the Mitsuri's training only last a few minutes in this episode 2. Obanai's training at first I thought was extreme, but at the same time I thought it was the most effective, i mean, Tanjiro learning to strike more accurately without getting his sword stuck in something or wasting extra movements will help him tremendously. Though him using people as objects was wild. 3. I do believe Sanemi loves Genya. Let's not jump to conclusion just from the scene alone. He just wants to protect him, you're not delusional 💔

@@agent6bellMy guess is that he was getting more desperate now that the war is approaching fast and Genya was still in the demon slayer corps and about to take a part in it and potentially getting himself killed + being blinded by rage when Genya told him about him eating demons. I heavily doubt that he hates Genya when their backstory showed how close they were and how Sanemi risked his life to save and protect Genya to the point of killing their mother.

My guy genya literally blamed his brother (Sanemi) for killing his mother, how do you think a young Sanemi feels having to kill his own mother with his bare hands, the same mother who killed all his siblings (besides genya) and his last living sibling blamed him for killing their mother calling and labelling him as a murderer. Of course he holds resentment and hate, he's messed up in the head.

And no he just genuinely Hates demons with a Captial H, he despises them with all his heart. Hearing is eating demons for power just sparked up that rage, because a demon caused his whole family to die and leaded him to kill his own mother, which in turn made his only living family label him as a murderer.

reprimand means actually Tanjiro completed his training with Shinazugawa since he's almost on equal footing w Wind Hashira. that's why Genya stays cus he's not done yet. Zenitsu finished his rounds like Inosuke did. that's why Tanjiro and Zenitsu move on to the next. i dont think they will explain this next episode, but they will explain the Mark and Shinazugawa on that i believe.

reprimand just missed Tanjiro got kicked out of Sanemi's training. Like Tanjiro still did not get Sanemi's approval to pass. The "since he can take on Sanemi anyways in a brawl fight". Is more of a copium Zenitsu came up to reason with Tanjiro that it is still okay for him to move on regardless.

No, he was banned from going near Sanemi so he had to skip his training and move on to Gyomei's instead. He didn't pass and Sanemi is still a lot stronger than Tanjiro.

Maybe, but I don't think so. The fact that Genya's walking around in daylight should be proof enough. For me, Sanemi doesn't want this life for his brother but he is so unreasonable and psychotic that he's willing to cripple his brother so Genya can quit being a Demon Slayer. Sanemi also lost respect for Genya for going that route (eating demons) to gain power. That's why he said if Genya's quit willingly, he'll let him go unharmed.

SPOILER The wind hashira is indeed trying to protect his Brother from the demon slayer life. Which is understandable but the way he shows it is insane. Like ''OH...You wont leave, then im gonna poke your eyes out'' Like bruh... Right after Genya talked about ''Oh i wanted to say sorry, i f*cked up'' like dude. He is insane. He doesn't want Genya to fight in the war and getting himself killed, instead he wants him to live a normal, demon-free life while he keeps the demons away from him, because he still loves Genya more than anything and wants to protect him, especially as his last remaining family. And yes, Sanemi is insane and his mind broke when he had to kill his mother after she killed his little siblings to protect Genya and then being blamed for it.
