I made a skin for a pokemon showdown that makes it look as close to possible to scarlet and violet. Competitive pokemon has never looked better. Background and weather are animated and the new like out is in an HD format.

The idea of recording backgrounds from the original game to create loop animations sounds both genius and stupid, but you made it work and it looks awesome! Only thing i would change is the player 1 character placement. It looks like they are watching the battle from the side rather than battling. Maybe placing them lower will do? (Just being picky)

Yea the problem is that they are facing you, you see their face not their back so no matter what it looks kinda silly, another option would do just get rid of them entirely idk

Maybe mirror the opponents sprite and move them to the left so that both trainers look like they’re coaching their Pokémon from the side?

I tried it and it's incredible! However the background take a LONG time to charge, but that simply may due to my bad internet, regardless I definitely recommend it

Thanks for the feedback glad to know it's mostly working right for others. It would be your internet speed, I should probably make a version where the backgrounds are images instead of gifs for slower speeds.

I wanna practice VGC so much more than I do, but the way Showdown displays information makes it hard for me to follow and keep track of compared to the games, plus the games are prettier to look at (most of the time), so I always have a hard time being interested in playing on Showdown. Wanted to try it but when i tried to install Stylish on Firefox I saw half comments were telling it's a spyware and I don't feel confident about using it, is there any other way to use the mod ?

IIRC Stylish has some security concerns, so it's probably better to use Stylus, a fork of Stylish, which should still work with the skins. Still though, nice job

This looks great! I really wish the backkgrounds loaded quicker, perhaps due to being static images, though. In addition, if a battle is over but you're still watching animations and the like, the 'First Turn' button seems to be misplaced. Great work though!
