Great video! As a competitive Budokai player and content creator my biggest gripe with the game is the absence of tutorial to teach cancelling. The thing that makes the series so special can be seen done by CPUs but never taught to the players
@ronniedweetno891 Жыл бұрын
Yessss so true which made the even more brutal af 😂😂😂
@Anthony-zl7yz2 жыл бұрын
I get that the game can feel difficult and “unbalanced” but it’s trying to teach you the techniques (although not explicitly) that the cpu’s are abusing. The cancel combos are the main thing you need to up your damage. As for the blue form, energy attack spamming etc., it is all avoidable. If you just dash away for a bit, the cpus will end up wasting all their energy in the process. It’s to the point where in competitive matches, my brother and I never use the blue form because of how easy it is to evade it. Overall, the game was def built to be more competitive, and after playing it I could never go back to bd3, nor did I want to. Trying to balance your dodging, energy, and that tired meter thing makes the game full of really cool layers.

Easiest way to unlock every one and farm Zeni is to play story mode. There's are part where you fight I think N18 or maybe Videl in the World Tournament Stage (Hard mode). At the start, just back up to the edge of the stage, when the opponent attacks, Teleport-parry their strike. It knockes them out. Each win takes about 10 seconds and gives you like 6000 Zeni.

my favorite DBZ game of all time, such an underrated gem. The gameplay is just so much fun and the co op battle memories for me are insane. Everything I didn't like about B3 was basically fixed in IW and I always appreciated the difficulty of this game. I loved how hard it can be, and people reviewed it horribly because it was even difficult on easy mode. You also have a new type of ultimate in this game, one that doesn't have a real cinematic and are ABSOLUTELY devastating. There is a way to cheese the game though, and not sure matty if you saw but you can replay the story with different characters. For the cheese, basically if you aura burn with max ki, you can infinitely spam super kamehameha which is COMPLETELY busted in this game. It literally is unblockable and near impossible to dodge and will do 2k damage per hit. Since there is aura burning, it is also super easy to spam. It works with ultimate masenko as well, or just about any secondary ultimate that is not a cinematic attack like big bang attack or spirit bomb.

The Raging Blast series is essentially a spiritual successor to the Tenkaichi series. You should give them a shot. Raging Blast 2's Galaxy mode is a bit tedious but if you use a guide to track down the proper near death seals beforehand, it can still be pretty fun. They run like greased lightening on RPCS3. I wish Xenoverse 2's combat/counter mechanics were more like Tenkaichi/Raging Blast because comparatively, it's quite shallow and doesn't do well with truly representing the source material.
@jeremyroberts88222 жыл бұрын
Man I couldn’t agree more about your opinion on xenoverse. So many people in the dragon ball community love those 2 games and I just don’t get it. To me personally they are okay but nowhere near some of the best dbz games ever like a lot of people claim they are

@@jeremyroberts8822 Yeah, a DBZ fighting game without beam clashes, sonic sway and swatting away supers/ultimates isn't a DBZ game made with passion and respect for the source material. With the exception of Kakarot. It's a beautiful looking game that definitely respects the story we all know and love. The counter/combat mechanics are barely better than Xenoverse, but that's only due to the addition of beam clashes and the absence of stamina breaks. Stamina breaks shouldn't exist in DBZ fighting games. Their ki is there stamina. Kakarot would've also been a better game overall if it shared RB2 mechanics.

I think my problem with DBZ games at the time was just the amount of games they released. Before Battle of Gods released, it's been years since the main series and GT ended, and even as a kid it kinda got boring playing the story mode over and over again. They're great games, but they were definitely releasing too many of them back to back. I always liked how some games had alternate stories or fanservice like raging blast 2 bringing in Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta and Broly to spice things up. I still remember Tenkaichi 3 skipping some important fights from the Buu saga. I specifically remember the premade fight scenes that played during the start screen, and they showed a clip of Super Boo vs Gotenks. When I got to the Buu saga, they completely skipped over it and Gohan vs Buutenks.

And from the gameplay perspective aspects, these DBZ games that I mentioned are very close to the anime itself because of the Vibe and Charm, I don't know how to describe it but it was, and still is the most Unique DBZ experience you could have with the combat factor. (- Sheer amount de of characters - Transformations mid-battle (powering up and down) - Fusions mid-battle - Fast gameplay that has that "woah" feel - Tons of extra content - Story mode covering all sagas + movies - What If sagas - Shenron having permanent impact on game (character unlocks and whatnot) - Great tournaments that rotate availability - Edit characters with items (buffs) - 5v5 battles - Really Great and Epic Sountracks - Destroyable environments - Entire stages could be blown up into their "destroyed" alternatives - Mission 100 being a great challenge - Artwork is 10/10 - Sound effects are great - Combat feels heavy and satisfying) Only Budokai 3, Infinite World and the Raging Blast 1 and 2 are still considered also very solid DBZ games, also the hidden gem that a lot of DBZ fans missed from PS2 Era of DBZ games is "Super Dragon Ball Z" which is also a real Unique and DBZ game, especially for the different gameplay aspects perspective. ☯️✌

as a guy who played this game when i was a child, well... it was an adventure for sure, as a kid, i was never able to complete this game (i got stuck in Majin Vegeta fight) and then i went from not be able to complete this game as a child (in super Easy) to be able to beat the AI on Maximum difficulty as an Adult. I still think the difficulty of this game is actually the best, i feel like there's not many DBZ games actually challenging

Yoooo Raging Blast is absolutely amazing, the Xenoverse games are really amazing too

I am so happy to hear I wasn't the only one to get stuck on Frieza, I kid you not it took me a full year to beat the guy, it left a bad taste in my mouth for the Budokai games, I ended up really enjoying the Budokai Tenkaichi games more because of it Take out the insane difficulty and game was a 7/10 for me

its an oversight from the devs. even if you set it to Very Easy, the Ai literally behaves the exact same as if you set it to Very hard. I struggled A LOT with kid buu and majin vegeta on my first playthrough.

Loved this game when it came out. Still got my copy, along all the other Budokai.

Not to puff up my cheast or anything BUT! If u rely on the autocombos - just smashing square and firing Kamehameha, this game will kick Your ass… Budokai 3 had a balance where u could beat the story even, as a novice spammer, and then if u wanted the Challenge, u could tackle the 3 Z difficulties where u had to think about Your stamina, ki control and actually know How to string a combo… With IW having almost identical combat system as B3, I think the game or at least the developers expected players to have the system figured out, knowing how to do these things. So if u didn’t “git gud” by the time u finished B3, then yeah… IW will kick Your ass on normal difficulty

I love Fighterz, but me and my brothers grew up with the ps2 DBZ games, such great memories. Me and my little bro still play this game to this day and we are pretty good at it 😂

I can’t believe this video is just coming out. I have had this for a while but I haven’t really got into playing it
@danbrown4415 Жыл бұрын
There’s a way to win every battle which ruined it. If you turn blue, you can constantly keep teleporting behind as a counter without your ki going down and when it’s over you’re not gassed like budokai 3

i like how you could equip multiple kamahamahas to one character to increase the size of it in game, and i hope they bring it back in dbz bt4

I kept almost getting this game, but never did. So many great memories playing the budokai and tenkaichi series. Such good games. They tried to recreate it at the beginning of the ps3 generation, but it was kind of weak. At least we have FighterZ now.

Funny how most people were burnt out by the time this came out. I remember as a kid I was sooo pressed on them coming out with an DBZ game in America, then Budokai launched and everyone lost their minds. Then a few years later like 10 games came out and it really was just the same shit over and over again like sports games and COD. I got back into DBZ around the release of Xenoverse 2 and I really enjoyed Kakarot, it was nostagalic for me.

I’m down to see some dragon ball vids, you should give burst limit a shot. That captured the anime perfectly especially in the cutscenes. The mechanics introduced to IW from Budokai 3 all came from Burst Limit. The fighting was better than budokai tho budokai had more anime finesse and techniques? It’s just a shame because the game never had a chance for trying to redo Budokai and stopping at the cell saga. If they had a bigger roster or something comparable to IW it probably would’ve stuck around. Burst limit is definitely worth a play and is extremely underrated, especially if you’re a Budokai fan, same devs.

you really need to play burst limit, probably the best voice acting and presentation for any dbz game

This game is so nostalgic, it's the first game that I completed but the 2nd game I played, the 1st game I ever played was budokai 3 but I was so young back then that I have so little memory of it😂
@doogerw26752 жыл бұрын
When I heard about this game all my friends just said it was just Budokai 3 with no dragon rush and the difficulty cranked up unreasonably high. So they all hated it and stuck with Budokai 3. Its a shame cause I woulda loved a Budokai 3 with a larger roster

I remember my dad buying this game for me when I was younger after budokai tenkaichi 3 it felt kinda weird playing a game that was so much like budokai again but it was challenging as hell for my younger self and I enjoyed the experience of completing this game

I watched a playthrough of it and it looked hard especially on z difficulty but it looked very entertaining at least to watch. I liked how the story mode was a little more involved sometimes like you got to play tien tri beaming cell or another u played a rythem game with videl to concentrate her ki so she can fly

Infinite World revolutionizing the Capsule system was really my favorite thing about the game. That, and taking away the shitty Dragon Rush minigame for cool attacks like the Special Beam Cannon, Warp Kamehameha, and the Final Flash. Incredible game and I really wish they would return to this approach of gameplay. But now the devs and the fans only ever rant and rave about the Tenkaichi series now. They're both great, but I prefer this.

I put more hours in on this game when I was a kid than any other game except maybe Budokai 3 and BT2. I played this game so much though! It was the only game that gave us Goku(GT) and he was the character I loved the most

Fun fact as a kid me and my cousins couldn’t figure out how to go buy skills and equip them so we got up to the Majin Vegeta fight with no skills or items before we got completely walled. We were so mad we stayed up all night trying to beat him and then I accidentally clicked the wrong thing and a whole new world of power opened up 😂

I played all the dbz games bought budokai 3 twice cuz I got bored and it’s easy than bought it again cuz I miss it, haven’t played raging blast and infinite world yet, now I’m 36 years old looking back at the 2 games and decided on getting a copy of infinite world brand new for over a $100 dollars, I can understand now cuz it’s rare, like the difficult challenge to add into my library! 👍🏼
