Being reminded how janky the pathfinding was in Pikmin 1 has me appreciating that it was pretty much entirely fixed in Pikmin 4

It was so fixed in 4 at the cost of Winged Pikmin's uses There are barely any instances where Winged Pikmin can take shortcuts so it is usually much more effective to use White Pikmin Only time you'd really use them is if you don't want to fight enemies in the water so you can transport with Blues or Oatchi

Its just too bad that pikmin 4 is baby game lol its way too easy. I'm extremely happy that 4 did well but they need to make the next game more like pikmin 2 or something, at the very least more like pikmin 3 (And abandon oatchi, completely ruins the balance of the game. Multiple captains was so much more enjoyable)

I love seeing people play pikmin for the first time. Also, pikmin 1's pathfinding was even worse then I remember. Glad that even Pikmin 2 made it so much better so if you still want to see more from the series, try out the other titles. 2 and 4 are the most enjoyable imo.
