In this video, I removed lag from Minecraft lol. It runs so smoothly. I used an i9-14900k... the world's fastest consumer CPU.

This reminds me of blowing up tnt on the Xbox 360, where it didn't lag the player, but rather decreased the number of tnt that could be active at one time. So a flat world top-to-bottom with tnt would in fact not crash the game and was an amount of fun that I will never have again.

He made a video recently that delved into optimizing Minecraft to get as many frames as possible so we know he has experience with this stuff, and all his videos are coding. A better PC alone would not allow you to do that because Minecraft is inherently very poorly optimized.

A mod can be open-sourced just like Sodium, which is currently the most popular optimization mod by the way. And I am pretty sure it overtook Optifine in popularity. Tons of people can help on working on Sodium since it's open-source code, you can just bring criticism to their discord server and they'll accept it to further optimize Minecraft

Notice how rarely he flies around, apart from to get further away from whatever he's doing. There are a few times you can see him move to try and get a better shot, then a fraction of a second later go "Oh wait, they'll see what's going on if I do that." and stop. Chances are: A. There is lag, and by not moving, he's hiding it, and B. Most likely the "optimizations" were just changing the code of Minecraft to change it so if you stay still, block effects like falling, death, and explosions that might render in 3d, render in 2d instead at a much closer distance, and it applies to everything instead of mostly just projectiles. Along with these, he most likely removed hardware usage caps so the game was allowed access to the full power of his pc, and then likely he set it up so as many of the components of his highest end pc were running only Minecraft as possible, with everything else in the background being done by a different computer entirely, including his OS.
