Bad news about the Bosch pumps. And I've heard similar elsewhere. That's why my 300CE-24 now has Pierburg pumps that cost more than double what the Bosch pumps now appear to cost. Working well.

Looking forward to the in car comparison :-) The 088 type equivalent I used was silent even with the failed in tank lift pump at 1/4 tank (745 Volvo).

I had the same trouble with Bosch replacement pumps for my ‘87 420SEL. I am interested in hearing more about these racing pumps

im by no means recommending them as have not even seen one yet, but considering getting walbro branded universal fit inline pumps.

can does walbro pumps be used for a m102 230e? pressure is same?
@MMWA-DAVE7 ай бұрын
@@makavelibenzze the fuel pressure regulator on the return line from the fuel distributor sets the fuel pressure. As long as the pump can meet or exceed the flow and pressure of the oem ones, it will work fine,

@@MMWA-DAVE woahh....okey means it does not damage the FD then it is fine enough...btway i messed the HEX key inside the FPR...i turned it all the way Off, i counted how many turns....and Open it back as counted but i messed it a bit turning counter clockwise/clockwise when finding an issue (misfiring, it was the cylinder head) what does the Hole HEX do? return back the fuel?

Are the modern racing pumps without seals? Or do they have better quality seals, because of the variety of chemical nasties in various racing fuels?
@MMWA-DAVE8 ай бұрын
they are still not ethanol rated- the ones im looking at anyway. But hopefully are better than the bosch ones. They certainly seem better built but wont know till i try them.

Hello..what part number do you have for your fuel pumps and what specs like (liters/h and pressure)
@MMWA-DAVE4 ай бұрын
@@salehfiras943 from memory i use Bosch 0580254911. Not that i can recommend Bosch, it doesnt seem to last any longer than the Chinese clones.

@@MMWA-DAVE just got these now and the interesting part is the following in every mercedes document it showed but not specifically to m104.980 (jus t m104) the following 0 580 254 950 now the difference is the part no with 911 is (95l/h with 4 bar pressure) and the part no.950(120l/h 5 bar pressure) could this be the reson for fast wear of the pumps and maybe a slow acceleration of the engine ?
