Armored Core: Last Raven is a 2005 mecha-based vehicular combat game developed by FromSoftware. It is part of the Armored Core series and is a direct sequel to Armored Core: Nexus (2004). The game was originally released for the PlayStation 2 and was ported to the PlayStation Portable in 2010. Gameplay remains largely unchanged from the game's predecessors and is centered around piloting a large mech in combat missions for various clients.

the handgun you got from ska is actually one of the best hangar weapons in the game, if you choose to use to use a hangar based core(i prefer Exceed Orbit cores myself) keep an eye out for hidden parts remember. parts can be destroyed in missions in this game, arms that get destroyed keep you from using the weapon/s on them. legs that get destroyed wont fully explode like other parts but you will move much slower for the rest of the mission. lose your head and your radar and fcs starts malfunctioning. if they do get destroyed but you succeed the mission you will automatically unequip them after the mission and will need to buy a new one. energy weapons don't have an post mission ammo cost if i remember right. remember, hover legs allow you to float on water. i think ac6 has made you forget to keep track of your radar. if you see something called a pulverizer and wanna kill it, maximize your energy defense as all they use are energy weapons. also all the weapons got huge rebalances from nexus. i beat most of last raven in a tank with dual bazookas and back mounted grenade launchers.

Last raven logos are so nice, all of them animated somehow. and the cutscenes...oooh man, i never get tired of the opening duel between the 2 acs before the title screen.

It's been a while since I played Last Raven, but I still remember some stuff. If you're going for machine gun, PIXIE 3 would be the best general purpose one. The "big bad" of the game has a very particular weakness to missiles, especially micro missiles. It's also a good missile all around, If you're going with a hangar core, put the revolver or the ROC 4 pulse gun in there. NEVER use hover legs. They build up heat ridiculously fast and since we've got part destruction in LR, the leg's massive hitbox gonna make it catch tons of bullets and it'll got smashed very quickly, worsening the heat problem on top of crippling your speed even more. EVERYONE uses Human + in LR EXCEPT you and there's no legit way of getting it for yourself. Prepare to be outclassed every single time.

All ammo extenders are removed since Nexus. All you got left are shoulder mounted ammo boxes you can use to refill. They're in the extensions section. They only work with rifles or laser rifles. Check the description on the bottom to determine which is which.

Its a real shame youre not gonna be able to finish Nexus, because while Nexus as a whole is a pretty mixed bag the ending is the best in the series. But yes, this is hands down the hardest in the series and certain enemies in certain routes will kick your ass without a proper build or skills. If you need tips on strong weapons just mention it and we can give you some advice. Edit: You did ask for advice, the Pixie 3 is the machine gun you want, not the 2. Its got 800 ammo instead of 1000 but much better DPS and efficiency. For your back, Micro Missiles will be your best friend, they are hilariously strong in Last Raven and will be your go to for tough enemies.

Tips eh? 1. Just unequip your weapons when it gets depleted. Saves weight, energy, and it increases the size of your lockbox. 2. CR-WH05BP is a bazooka with high damage and high ammo. It can get you through most missions without running out of ammo (as long as you hit most of them). I believe it's available right at the start in the shop and cost 93,200c. 3. If you do plan to use CR-WH05BP on the right hand, I suggest using a rifle, or something similar on the left. Because most medium enemies survive 1 bazooka shot, but 2 is over kill. If you wanna save even more ammo, shooting once with the bazooka then finish them off with the rifle. 4. The starter missile launcher is very useful on helicopters. Better to use those than miss your arm shots. 5. The starter missile launcher fires only 1 small missile, but it's quick to lock on and faster to fire. Instead of using missile launchers that fires more but locks on longer, I suggest just pairing the started with relation missile extensions and be able to fire more missiles at a time easier. 6. Heat isn't as egregious as Nexus so you could be more daring in your boosts. 7. Firing numerous missiles fks up with enemy ACs' AI making them prioritize dodging where you could use your left arm weapon to take advantage of that opening. 8. Using blades on indoor missions is great due to how easy it is to land hits indoors. 9. When using blades against MTs, I recommend using *weaker* blades rather than the stronger ones. This is because of a mechanic in the game where the higher killing blow damage causes enemies to explode faster, which deals damage. Killing enemies using weak blades gives you time to boost backwards and evade the explosion. 10. *Most important*, change and tune your Generator, Radiator, and Boosters early. The starter ones are straight ass.

ngl this is the first time I've ever seen someone struggle so much against Quota in the VR Arena lol. Man literally has nothing but a Pulse Rifle equipped HOW are you getting beat by that (Also, fun fact: A lot of the VR Arena Rankers are actually references to ACs show in the opening of previous titles, for instance Quota is from the opening of Project Phantasma) Wide and Shallow is the FCS you want (until you get the Sideways FCS) but do consider that your total lockbox is determined by a combination of your FCS + Right gun (+ Left gun also if you're dual wielding) so keep in mind the kind of weapons you're equipping to that FCS And as you already discovered: Bunny hopping is THE movement tech for bipeds in this game lol

Welcome to hell, Rui! :D Last Raven is a great game held back, in my opinion, by being excessively hard and punishing... And not in a good way. I finished both this and the (EVEN HARDER) PSP version, S ranked all endings, and oh boy let me tell you it's not often a fun time. Especially with how hard it is to make a viable AC compared to every other game in the series. What you experienced in this video is one of the main features of this game: running out of ammo. Every enemy is extremely tanky, time-to-kill for ACs is higher than ever AND ammunition is now more limited than before, so you have to be extremely careful with how you approach fights and design your AC. The heat system from Nexus is back, thankfully toned down, but it can still throw a massive wrench in your plans especially if you're piloting a tank or hover AC (please NEVER use a hover AC in Last Raven, trust me). Without going too deep into things, I will give you one simple advice: your left weapon is the centerpiece of your build. It's always active regardless of your selected weapon and is literally half your firepower, so you definitely want to choose something meaty and with enough ammo to last a while (for as much as you can get in LR, at least). Also, the left weapon's lock type will affect the size of your lock box with all other weapons! If you use something like a sniper rifle you'll get a smaller box, while something like a machinegun will make it noticeably larger. Yup, left weapons are VERY important. I won't bother you too much with more advice for now, but I'll really look forward to more - the game has a lot of good, if you can make it past the excruciating. ;3 Also, did you know that a new ACVI patch might be dropping soon? Let's hope it will be a big one! :D

As you can imagine the community is speculating a lot since the last update was in February - I'd say a balance patch is most likely, but getting new parts is also not out of the question! So sad taht you lost your AC Nexus savefile. Starting LR with it is actually the optimal way to play, this game assumes you're a series veteran and just starts throwing you off the deep end. The legendary first mission noob trap, and the entire mission path that follows from that is instantly hardcore. Campaigns are short in this game, and that's good because it has 5 endings and a secret final boss!

@@ruikiri trust me the psp version is harder than the ps2 they reduce the lockbox size there plus enemy's with emc jammer's in ps2 you just need 500+ to 700+ vs emc is psp you need at least 1200 to 1500 vs emc in Mission defeat Raging Torrent and that mission on the dome where you fighting a special weapon and vs emc oh and the Polvorizer weapon in the psp has a random aggressive ai 👍🏻

The more you keep with this minimalist shtick the more you'll get your shit pushed in. Replace as much of the default frame as you want. The default AC SUCKS, especially with its rifle. You got enough funds to build something better than that. Also tuning is free. Buff your parts' performance! You can make your legs hold more weight. You can even make parts lighter. Don't be afraid to sell parts you bought or found. If it doesn't work, you can just sell the part back for 100% of the value. If you like the look of your default AC, then good. But at least get rid of the interior parts and load up on good weapons. The default rifle is trash, replace it immediately. The default sword is the default AC's strongest weapon, and is a great cheap back-up weapon to have in the hangar unit slot. The missile launcher needs extensions to shine, otherwise, find something better. The radar is OK and better than nothing. The default boosters are just bad. The default radiator is as weak as it is light. The default FCS is almost the literal worst. The default generator's only two perks is that it's light and it's the coolest generator in the game. The default frame parts have the unique perk of never starting any mission damaged. They don't much going for them. Plus their cooling sucks.
