Memento has to be one of the best designs in Yu-Gi-Oh ever. The deck has no locks in any of the cards, and yet you are encouraged to play a lot of the archetype cards. It's competent and doesn't rely on floodgates, like other rogue decks.

Memento is my absolute goal when designing custom cards and archetypes. It has such a healthy, sane relationship with generics without a heavy-handed or overly punishing xenolock, plus it just has a solid and clear design and theme that isn't too overpowered or overbearing.

Bone Back is my favorite card in this whole deck. It's such an anime card since it has, not one, but TWO effects that rely on the opponent just not knowing how to read cards. And both of them are super flashy. Like, insta-summon your 5000 attack boss monster, and if that don't work, just summon EVERY MONSTER IN YOUR WHOLE DECK. No matter how you play it, it's hilarious.

@@FrostReave You probably played against people that are less experienced, the deck has a ridiculous amount of search but for every search you also have to destroy. Especially in grindier games this deck can time out very easily, even something as simple as searching 1 thing can take like 3 or 4 triggers. The reason you see so many people concede is because if the full combo gets pulled off it takes a very long time for it to finish, most people don't have the patience to sit through that.

I know this is just probably a huge coincidence, but one thing I realize about memento is that the combo can be long, which can drain so much of your time if you are not fast enough Which is fitting, the theme of memento is death or specifically a reminder that "we all will die someday". The timer is counting the time you have left before your "Death". If you ran out of time, you "die" But if you are not and you win, it's like the deck telling you "we all will die someday, but not today or now". Which if really fitting with the deck Again, probably just a coincidence and/or I'm just reading too much into it. But it's neat

Nah, the Memento combo isn't that long, what makes it feel long is MD's confirmation boxes, specificaly Combined Creation, you have to go through 5 diferent confirmation boxes just to summon it, or even Horse you will go through 3 confirmation boxes just for it's effect, and both the fusion and goblin will give you 2 confirmation boxes each.

I did my master climb with Memento last cycle, and I got a surprising amount of play out of bone back... I usually searched it at the end of a standard combo line, and it made it to where I could have my field wiped, and still keep all my backrow/memento handtraps live. Granted, since I only ran one copy, and had to search it, any opponent who could read would be able to play around it if they had the right tools... but I mean, this is YGO. Ain't no one gonna read the cards you search, even in the higher ranks. XD

Don't know if it has been recommended previously, but I would love to see the climb attempted with paleos. It is surprisingly competent and fun. You can even do some funny things with cards like magical hats, which is something that almost no other deck can claim

I played Memento for a long while, I would always have 2 Combined Creation, because it's special summon is in fact not once per turn. (Worth noting Combined Creation can be destroyed in hand or discarded for activations and is considered a name for the summon of a different Combined Creation. It's really fine to open one in hand, that just means you don't need to waste a foolish burial or search on it.) Also you definitely need more than one spright elf, and I would run 2 of each of the little guys for much higher consistency and leaving more cards behind in your graveyard for returning to hand with Ghattic. You can abuse spright elf very hard by getting cards back when spright elf summons Ghattic rather than when it specials itself, and also you need spright elf to protect Combined Creation. I would even run 1 copy of the protection card that would summon out my second copy of Combined Creation if they nibiru me or lava golem or whatever so that the negates would still be online.

I think stabilizers should help raise the percentage of the rare drops and the boosted stat stays improved until you get one of the 6%-10% drops and it resets. Getting a stabilizer is already close to impossible and on top of that you can only hold a limited number of them. There’s nothing more depressing than using that stabilizer and getting the high drop and you feel like it’s just a scam.

In the first duel vs. Machina, Machina Ruinforce's special summon is inherent, it doesn't start a chain thats why you couldn't use called by. I love Ruinforce so much.

When it comes to Salamangreat, you go for the Gazelle, Raging, Promethean or Code of Soul with Called By, those are the biggest dangers in Salamangreat. if all of them are in the GY, go for the Gazelle if they added another one to the hand during the combo as it shut downs a lot of plays for the deck itself since they can't summon from hand or send anything to the GY if they added. if they don't have that one, go for any go the links that aren't Raging, Raging's effect isn't that detrimental as is just attack boost or add a Salamangreat card from deck to hand while the others do damage your board. on another note, keep a goblin in had just incase they normal summoned Fire of Salamangreat or Gazelle, they probably don't have Cynet Mining on hand to discard a Salamangreat Monster to special Gazelle. (Disclamer, I play pure Salamangreat so don't trust me 100 on this next one) if they run the Terror Top package, veiler it as anyone else would if you can, they probably wasted their normal summon already with it. Loved the video though, keep making this challenges!

Ghattic and Goblin are both fiends, so you can actualy run a small unchained package in mementos with Sharvara + escape of the unchained in the main deck + Yama, Soul of rage and soul of anguish in the extra deck. It's probably not good strong enough for master rank, but it's a fun one. Another option would be to use Spright Elf. Also where the fuck did you find all those Nibiru users? I guess Nibiru becomes more common in plat, diamond and master ranks, because even in the duelist cup i barely saw any nibiru.
