I absolutely love Lollipop Chainsaw. Probably my favorite Suda51 game, with No More Heroes coming in a close 2nd. Absolute underrated gem. I adored the atmosphere and style, and how the game would reward you for playing better. I really need to go back and get all the achievements some time.

Make fuck not kill sounds epic xD But going back to the game, I did enjoy playing it and the fact that it did make fun of itself was even better. At times though I felt myself get a tad bored of the repeated levels. I do agree it felt like there was a lot more to be put into that game but it was rushed out. Though I still play it every once and a while :)

Now I am one person who can talk Suda for hours, but I agree with many of the points you make. Visually the game is weak, the art style is a strange mesh of realism and comic book pop-art which itself looks poor compared to say other Suda titles like Killer is Dead, No More Heroes or Flower, Sun and Rain. The story and writing as you pointed out clearly has a set brand of humour, whereas the general gameplay is a mess of ideas and segments there to fill time. But somewhat, it remains fun for whatever reason, perhaps because its arcade like nature and length. Biggest factor however is much like Diabolical Pitch; Suda’s general impact is very minimal in this game. He never wrote or directed the game, he was merely brought in boost this games reputation and provide creative input. He's also done great work as a producer mind, if you are looking for a more “subtle” Suda title check out both Contact and Sine Mora.

I mostly agree with you, but the one about Suda (Or whoever made the game :3) only using "setpieces" like the harvester thingy only a couple of times i thought was fine. It made each level have their own unique setpiece. It would suck if each level had the baseball one or specially the Harvester one i mentioned earlier. Some of them where fun multiple times though. Like the baseball and basketball ones. Also, did you find the game replayable? I found myself sinking hours into it getting highscores, unlocks and whatnot. Im kinda shooting myself in the foot by saying the minigames are not very fun the second time around but i still clocked in tons of hours playing it. Go figure.

mamba5445 I know what you mean, I did really like the variety between levels. Killer 7 did this as well, and from what I can tell so far Killer Is Dead does this too. In terms of replayability, I do think I'll be play this game again sometime. I'm not that much of a high scores guy, but I do like the idea of maybe unlocking some more extras I haven't unlocked yet. And the game is definitely short enough to play through multiple times. I'll probably make an other video about it by the time I do, because I kinda regret some of the things I said in this video.
